Dear brothers and sisters, Our beautiful McAllen Texas Temple will be closed for its regularly scheduled semi-annual maintenance beginning September 21 through October 5.
If you would like to add a name to the temple prayer roll during the closure, you may do so through your Church account online or in the Tools app.

The temple remains open through Saturday, September 19. Appointments are strongly encouraged; however, walk-in patrons with a current temple recommend are always welcome.

We invite you to take advantage of this opportunity to attend before the maintenance closure. We look forward to seeing you there and are grateful for the blessings the temple brings to our lives.❤️❤️

“Our hearts are deeply touched, as are those of all Americans and of free people across the world,” President Hinckley said. “This has been a tragic, solemn and dark day. We have been reminded that evil is still rampant in the world.”

Despite the darkness of the hour, President Hinckley said, “there is shining through the heavy overcast of fear and anger the solemn and wonderful image of the Son of God, the Savior of the world, the Prince of Peace, the Exemplar of universal love, and it is to Him that we look in these circumstances.”

9/11 Day of Service projects are occurring tomorrow, Saturday 9/12 around the valley. All are invited to attend to serve others in our community ❤️

🌟 "There is a time to laugh... and a time to rejoice." 🌟

This weekend, a group of single adults (36+) came together for a memorable activity: painting one another! 🎨😍

Beyond the paint and creativity, there was something even more beautiful, genuine connection. In a world that can often feel disconnected, moments like these remind us that we are created for community, friendship, and joy.

What a blessing it is to gather, uplift one another, and enjoy the journey together. 💛

What an uplifting youth devotional with nearly 300 in attendance!

The youth were invited to focus on three important things:
• Attend and actively participate in seminary
• Receive their patriarchal blessings
• Prepare to serve missions

Parents were encouraged to support their children in preparing for missionary service. Studies show that return missionaries are significantly more likely to remain active in their faith long-term, with activity rates of 80-90%, compared to 18-30% for those who do not serve.

A powerful message throughout the evening was the importance of coming to know our Savior personally and learning to recognize His hand in our lives every day.

So grateful for the strength, faith, and testimony of our youth! ❤️

✨ Celebrating the Light of Giving in the Rio Grande Valley! ✨

We are deeply grateful to the Food Bank RGV INC for graciously hosting the Light the World Giving Machine donation celebration yesterday and for helping make this first year of the Giving Machine Initiative in the Rio Grande Valley so meaningful.

A special thank-you to Capable Kids, CASA of Hidalgo County, Food Bank RGV INC, Make-A-Wish Rio Grande Valley, South Texas Juvenile Diabetes Association for being part of this incredible inaugural year. 💙

We are so grateful for the important work each of these organizations do to serve, uplift, and strengthen our community. It was an honor to contribute a small part toward enhancing their missions, and supporting the people and families they serve through the Giving Machine Initiative.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration—and this season of giving—possible. Together, we truly can Light the World through love, service, and generosity. ✨
