On this Twenty-Third Sunday in Ordinary Time, Jesus reminds us that discipleship is never lived alone. We are called to seek reconciliation, to speak the truth with love, and to care for one another as members of His Body. When conflict arises, may we resist division and instead work patiently for healing and unity. Christ promises to remain with us: “Where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”

Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Today, August 15, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, patroness of the Diocese of Greensburg. At the end of her earthly life, Mary was taken body and soul into the glory of the heaven – a sign of the destiny God desires for all who belong to Christ. As we honor our diocesan patroness, may Mary help us remain faithful to her Son and renew our hope in His promise of eternal life. Our Lady of the Assumption, pray for the Diocese of Greensburg!
