Dear Church Family,
It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that our beloved Mr. George Eastes has passed away. George was a cherished member of our congregation; he sang in our choir, and his presence, kindness, and faith touched so many lives.
A funeral service honoring his life will be held tomorrow, Friday, June 26th, at 10:00 AM at First United Methodist Church. Visitation will be held at 09:00 AM in the Social Hall. Service will be officiated by Rev. Jean Reardon.

Please keep his family and loved ones in your prayers during this difficult time.

With love and sympathy,
Pastor Laura and FUMC staff.

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and we know healing from violence isn’t just about physical safety.

Survivors often carry things you can’t see on the outside, things like anxiety, sadness, trouble sleeping, memories that won’t let go. None of that means you’re “weak” or “overreacting.” It means something hard happened to you, and your mind is trying to cope with it. You deserve real support for that.

Through our STEPS program, survivors can meet with trauma-informed counselors who understand how violence affects the brain and body. Together, you can work on learning healthy ways to manage triggers and stress, processing what happened at your own pace, and finding hope and confidence for what comes next.

Asking for help is not something to be ashamed of. It’s an important step toward feeling more like yourself again.

If you or someone you care about is ready to talk with a counselor, you can learn more at hillcountrycrisiscouncil.com/the-steps.
