May 23, 2026 - Devotional: Steady in the Shaking
Scripture Focus: “But the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.” ~Daniel 11:32 KJV
Theme: God Is Strengthening His People for Stability, Discernment, and Endurance in an Unstable Hour
The hour we are living in is producing tremendous pressure upon people emotionally, spiritually, financially, mentally, and physically. Many are carrying burdens they never speak aloud. There is shaking in nations, shaking in economies, shaking in families, shaking in churches, and even shaking within the hearts of believers. Yet in the midst of all this instability, the Spirit of the Lord is calling His people into deeper stability, deeper discernment, deeper consecration, and deeper dependence upon Him.
One of the greatest battles many believers are facing right now is not always external warfare. It is internal exhaustion. Many are fighting to maintain peace while carrying uncertainty. Fighting to maintain faith while navigating disappointment. Fighting to maintain emotional stability while carrying grief, pressure, delay, betrayal, financial strain, and concern for loved ones. The enemy has been attempting to wear down the people of God mentally and emotionally through prolonged stress, overstimulation, fear, distraction, and discouragement. But the Lord says this morning that He is restoring strength to weary people and clarity to burdened minds.
The Spirit of God is also exposing areas where His people have unconsciously allowed fear, trauma, offense, disappointment, or anxiety to shape their perspective more than His Word. This is not a season for panic, emotional reaction, or spiritual drift. This is a season for grounding. God is calling His people back to prayer, back to the Word, back to discipline, back to discernment, and back to intimacy with Him. The Lord is teaching His people how to remain spiritually steady while everything around them feels uncertain.
Many believers have also been grieving silently over family matters, strained relationships, prodigal children, emotional distance, and concerns surrounding the next generation. Yet the Lord says do not surrender your family to hopelessness. Continue standing in prayer. Continue covering your household. Continue speaking life. Continue trusting God even when transformation appears delayed. The Lord is still moving behind the scenes in the hearts of sons, daughters, spouses, and loved ones. Heaven has not stopped working simply because manifestation has not yet fully appeared.
The Lord is also strengthening His remnant Church in this hour. While there is compromise, confusion, deception, and weariness in many places, there is also a rising hunger for authenticity, holiness, truth, deliverance, prayer, and the real presence of God. The Lord is purifying His people. He is separating performance from true power. He is exposing mixture while strengthening those who genuinely desire Him. Do not become discouraged by what is being shaken. God often allows shaking so that what is genuine can emerge with greater clarity and strength.
This is also a season where discernment must increase. Not every open door is from God. Not every voice carries wisdom. Not every opportunity carries peace. The Lord is teaching His people to slow down, listen carefully, pray deeply, and move with wisdom rather than urgency or emotional impulse. Many of the battles believers are facing right now have been intensified by emotional exhaustion and prolonged pressure. But the Lord says His peace will stabilize those who remain close to Him.
Today, the Spirit of the Lord is calling His people to resist fear and return to confidence in His sovereignty. God has not lost control of the nations, the economy, your family, your assignment, or your future. The darkness of this hour has not caught Heaven by surprise. The Lord is still preserving His people, strengthening His remnant, opening doors, healing hearts, restoring minds, and preparing believers for what is ahead.
Remain steady in prayer.
Remain grounded in the Word.
Remain humble before God.
Remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
Remain disciplined in your thought life.
Remain watchful without becoming fearful.
Remain compassionate without compromising truth.
Remain faithful even when weary.
The Lord is strengthening His people for endurance, stability, and spiritual maturity in this hour. Those who truly know their God shall remain strong and continue to carry out His purposes even in difficult times.
Prayer:
Father, strengthen Your people today. Stabilize weary minds and anxious hearts. Restore peace where fear has tried to settle in. Give discernment, wisdom, endurance, and spiritual clarity. Heal emotional exhaustion and renew hope again. Draw Your people deeper into prayer, deeper into truth, and deeper into intimacy with You. Preserve families, strengthen leaders, awaken the Church, and let Your people remain steady in the midst of shaking. In Jesus’ Name, amen.
