Did you know the average American uses 80 gallons of water each day? By installing a single rain barrel at your home, you can save up to $200 per year!
The United Presbyterian Church Board of Deacons will be offering a workshop to help empower local residents who are also interested in harvesting their roof's rain water.
When: 6-7pm on Thursday, May 28
Where: United Presbyterian Church in Mason City (122 W. High Street).
Cost: $50 ($70 if delivered within 10 miles of Mason City).
Payment is due the day of the event.
To sign up for this workshop, please fill out the form here: https://tinyurl.com/MCRainBarrel
These 55-gallon storage containers are repurposed plastic drums that have been cleaned out and are ready for use; simply attach the provided hardware at the workshop, take it home, and install it - and you'll be harvesting runoff water in no time!
While this water isn't recommended for drinking due to potential contaminants from roofing materials, it's great for filling birdbaths, watering plants, washing your car, and more!
