On Wednesday evening we honored our teachers who serve faithfully every week. Our theme was SODA-LIGHTFUL (so-delightful) centered around the sweet soft drinks.

Once a month we hold a church service for the residents here. They especially love for the younger ones to sing. This Sunday we had a trio of boys that did a great job. Then, it sounded like a choir as they joined in and sang along with Sister Blackmon as she sang Just a Closer Walk With Thee.

On Sunday our Junior Campers prepared, served, and did the clean up (All with a little help) for a delicious pasta lunch. This was one of their service projects to be eligible for Super Hero status at church camp in June. They did a fantastic job.

What a great Easter Sunday at Goodway. God moved in a special way. Pastor Billingsley presented 3 baptismal certificates this morning. We are thankful for what God is doing.

Heaven claimed another beautiful soul. Sister Carol has been an integral part of the Goodway Church for many years. She was a faithful saint, always ready to give of her time, talents, and finances. She had a gift of teaching the smaller children, helping them learn Bible verses and songs. She loved “her kids”, and they loved her. She was a prayer warrior and worshiper. Whenever there was work to be done, dinners to serve, nursing homes to visit, Sister Carol could be counted on. Her beautiful singing was such a big part of many worship services. She even penned a few songs herself.
For anyone going through difficult times, it was not uncommon to receive a card with a word of encouragement and a scripture from Sister Carol.
We are lifting up Brother Earl, her girls, and the rest of the family. She will be missed here, but we shall see her on the other side.
