Services for Father Mark A. Moore

On Tuesday, June 9, at 11 a.m., a memorial Mass for Father Mark A. Moore will be celebrated at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, Marietta. A public reception will immediately follow the Mass in the basilica's social hall. All are welcome.

The Knights of Columbus will also lead a Rosary for Father Moore on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at Christ the King University Parish, Athens. All are invited to attend.

Public visitation will be held on Thursday, June 11, at Christ the King University Parish from 2-4 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m.

The funeral Mass for Father Moore will be celebrated on Friday, June 12, at 11 a.m., at St. Paul Church, Athens. In keeping with the wishes of Father Moore's family and due to limited capacity, attendance at the funeral Mass itself will be limited to family members, brother priests, deacons, parish and diocesan staff, and the Knights of Columbus Honor Guard.

To allow the faithful to participate prayerfully in the funeral Mass, a livestream viewing will be available at Christ the King University Parish in Athens, the Holy Family Center in Athens, Sacred Heart Church in Pomeroy, and online. Following the Mass, Father Moore will be laid to rest at Mount Calvary Cemetery in Athens. All are welcome to gather and walk to Mount Calvary Cemetery following the livestream. Limited street parking and parking at nearby local businesses will be available for those unable to make the walk.

An additional memorial Mass for Father Moore will be celebrated on Thursday, June 18, at 1:30 p.m., at St. Joseph Church in Ironton. All are welcome.

Bishop Edward M. Lohse will celebrate a diocesan memorial Mass this summer at a date to be announced soon.
