We continue our study of Luke's narrative of the Good News of Jesus Christ, in our passage today from Luke 9:51-62, in a message titled "A Face Like Flint."
Application – Luke 9:51-62
Press On! – Keep on Keeping On! Keep Moving Forward!
1. Press on when the mission is hard. Do not wait until obedience becomes easy. Press on!
2. Press on when others do not welcome you. Jesus did not come to win every argument. He came to accomplish redemption.
3. Press on without comparing your zeal to others. We do not need to compare ourselves to others' zeal. We need to examine our own hearts before Christ.
4. Press on when lesser loyalties compete for first place. Sometimes the most dangerous idols are not bad things. They are good things placed above Christ.
5. Press on with your eyes forward. We may look back at old sins, old comforts, old identities, or old ways of controlling life. But Jesus calls us forward.
