Jesus' victory is yours. Claim it.

The same God who sent David into the valley to fight Goliath for Israel sent Jesus into your story to fight for you. The battle belongs to the Lord. 🙌

🙏 PRAYER REQUEST: Today, June 15, is Elder Abuse Awareness Day. It’s a huge opportunity to love our senior neighbors by interceding for them in prayer, care, and knowledge!

1 in 10 older adults are estimated to be affected by financial or physical abuse, but only about 1 in 14 cases are reported nationwide. To raise awareness in our community, the Cobb County Sheriff's Office Elder Abuse Task Force displays colorful "granny patches" in creative arrangements throughout Marietta.

📸 This year, our Knitting Angels contributed 118 handmade squares using scrap yarn from past projects for this effort.

When you see these displays around town, let it be a reminder to pray:
• That families and caregivers will recognize the signs of elder abuse and be equipped to advocate for vulnerable seniors.
• That local law enforcement will have wisdom, compassion, and vigilance in protecting older adults.
• That perpetrators will be held accountable.
• That our elderly neighbors will experience Christ's love, know Him as Savior and Lord, and find strength in Him each day.

The story of David and Goliath isn't ultimately about courage. It's about a God who sends a Champion to fight the battle you could never win on your own.

✨ It's about a victory you don't have to earn. Israel never lifted a sword while David fought Goliath. In the same way, we don't fight for victory—we fight from it. Jesus already won.

✨ It's about a Champion who steps into the valley for you. When Israel stood frozen in fear, God sent someone to fight in their place. When humanity stood condemned, God sent His Son to fight in ours.

✨ It's about a battle that was never really yours to win. The cross and the empty tomb settled it: sin, death, and shame are defeated enemies.

So what does it look like to live from that victory?
✝️ Claim Resurrection Power over every area of your life. Declare Jesus' grace over your sin and shame.
↩️ Repent. Leave behind the patterns that keep you walking in defeat.
⛪ Gather with other believers. Isolation weakens; community strengthens.
🔥 Depend on the Holy Spirit. God never intended for you to live the Christian life by your own strength.
🙏 Pray continually. The Early Church treated prayer as essential, not optional.
🌎 Live for something bigger than yourself. Make God's kingdom your priority.
✝️ Obey Jesus even when it costs you something. The apostles endured suffering because they believed He was worth it.

The next time you find yourself staring down a giant, remember: you're not fighting for victory. You're fighting from it.

Your Champion has already stepped into the battle. The battle belongs to the Lord.

And the same victory that marked David's story is the victory God has given you in Jesus.

The Exodus was never just about leaving Egypt. With every detail of Israel's deliverance, God was teaching His people the language of redemption. 📖 READ:

As God delivered His people from slavery in Egypt, He was doing something greater than freeing them from physical bo***ge.

The invitation to stillness is the invitation to trust. It is an invitation to stop trying to manage your own deliverance – be that through willpower, religion, moral effort, self-improvement, etc. – and to let the Deliverer work.

Jesus is the Passover Lamb.
Jesus is the parted sea; the Way when there is no way.
Jesus is your Advocate.
Jesus fights for you.

Being still is not passivity. It is the active, strenuous work of faith. It takes more faith to trust than to strive.

But those who stand still discover something the striving never does: the waters part. And on the far shore, they find themselves free – not because of what they did, but because of what God did for them. ✝️

Trade the pursuit of freeing yourself for trusting in the Deliverer God has sent.

You stepped into our Egypt.
You took us by the hand.
You marched us out in freedom into the Promised Land.
We will not forget You, God.
We’ll sing of all You’ve done.
Death is swallowed up forever, by the fury of Your love!
