When did missing one practice or tournament start feeling like a major parenting decision?

Youth sports can create so much pressure that families feel guilty for taking a vacation, missing a Sunday, or simply choosing time together.

Sometimes, we need to zoom out and remember: they’re kids. Sports matter, but so does family, rest, and making memories outside the game.

We want our kids to succeed, but when does encouragement turn into pressure?
Our culture tells kids they have to do more, earlier, to keep up. More training. More competition. More pressure to perform.
Sometimes the best thing we can give young athletes is the space to develop, enjoy the game, and just be kids.
