**What We Believe**
About God
We believe there is one God. He eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Genesis 1:1-27; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:18; Philippians 2:5-7
About Jesus
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He is God manifest in the flesh, born of a virgin, lived a sinless human life. Jesus of
fered himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all humanity by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate his power over sin and death. He ascended into Heaven and will return again to resurrect and eternally save His followers. Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-31; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11; Titus 2:13
About the Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He prompts righteousness, convicts the sinner, and stirs the conscience. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truth, and guidance for doing what is right. 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 16:7-13, 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13; Galatians 5:25
About the Bible
The Bible is divinely inspired by God. The Bible reveals the nature of God and His direction for humanity. The Bible is the foundation of our faith, our standard of right and wrong, and our guide for holy living. 2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Hebrews 4:12-13
About Humanity
Humanity was created by God in His spiritual image. We have an eternal spiritual nature (soul), a temporary physical nature (body), and a unique personality nature (sinful nature, spirit). We did not evolve from animals, we are accountable to God and personally responsible for our choices in life. Although people have a tremendous potential for good, we also have free will to do evil. The attitude of disobedience toward God is called "sin". This attitude separates men from God. Genesis 1:27; 1 Thessalonians 5:23; 2 Corinthians 5:10; Romans 3:23; Isaiah 59:1-2; Galatians 5:16-21
About Salvation
Salvation can only be found in Jesus. The cross is a demonstration of God's heart to save you, but you are personally responsible to accept God's offer. You are saved by grace; called to be a disciple of Jesus; called to repentance (stop gratifying the sinful nature); committed to spiritual living; and are buried in baptism to begin the new life in Christ. Acts 4:12; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 2:4-9; Luke 9:23-25; Galatians 5:24-25; Romans 6:3-7
