It’s Taylor Craig, a lifelong MVC member and former intern. I live in L.A. now but always come back to Maple Valley for our Cashmere VBS ministry week, and have seen so many sweet moments, life change, and great God moments over the years.
Back in 2015, I went to Cashmere for the first time and helped lead the pre-k group and met the sweetest little light named Harper. She was so full of joy and we built such a great connection. I got to spend the whole week with her and went back the following year hoping to see her again, but she wasn’t there.
Here we are in Cashmere 11 years later, and I was sitting in the park on Friday setting up water games. 2 teenage girls walked by and say that our setup looked so fun. We invited them to join us, and I look at one of the girls and say, “this may be weird, but is your name Harper?”. In fact, it was, and she remembered me too.
This is a girl I have been thinking and praying for over the last 11 years. She, and her friend, joined us for youth group games, and said they wanted to join us again next year.
It was such a beautiful, full circle, reconnection moment, and it was too good not to share. Small relational investments can create lifelong impact, and I feel so blessed to be a part of it.
