A letter from our Northern Ohio District Executive, Kris Hawk:

Good morning brothers and sisters of the Northern Ohio District,

Please be in prayer the family of Mark Herbert (Mansfield First CoB). Mark passed away Friday morning. Mark was active in the district, helping with the renovation of Cherry Lodge at the camp, setting up the archives room at the District Office, and providing District Office repairs - so much of his ministry to others was quietly behind the scenes. Mark also helped his wife, Ginny, when she served as District Conference Registrar from 2011 to 2017.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2026, from 3:00 p.m.–7:00 p.m. at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mansfield First Church of the Brethren with calling hours one hour prior to the service from 10:00–11:00 a.m. officiated by Pastor Tina Hunt.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Mansfield First Church of the Brethren, Kind Hearts Hospice, Heifer Project and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
