Zoe Empowers Day 3 -

We had a beautiful day of worship. Senior Pastor, Mama Trice and the church family welcomed us and we felt right home. They invited Pastor Sherrill Johnston with our group to share a message & it was beautiful!

After worship we meet with two Zoe groups that are partnered with two sister churches of our, First Methodist Midlothian and First Methodist Weatherford. We celebrated all these groups have been doing and shared greetings from their partner church. Some of the students shared their incredible journey's, from their lives before Zoe to now.

Later in the afternoon we learned and experienced some of the unique cultures that makes up Tanzania. This included a quick visit to a reptile farm and for some a quick camel ride.

As we sat down to order our dinner someone pulled up the 11 am service back home just as Pastor Mike was speaking about Zoe. We are so grateful for the continuous prayers for Zoe Empowers kids, staff and our team!

Monday we will continue to visit Zoe groups.

Day 2 of the Zoe Empowers Tanzania trip -
It was another full day of witnessing how God is moving in and around Arusha, Tanzania. We started the day hearing directly from the Zoe staff how things work together and how they support/coach these amazing kids.

Next, it was an incredible reunion with three groups we partnered with. We met two years ago in August of 2024, just as they started meeting together. The transformation is beyond our words. They are thriving in health, self-care, growing & raising their own food, and running their businesses. They are caring for siblings, sending them to school, and helping their community. A few have started going back to school themselves. Their praise of God was inspiring!

We ended with a visit to several of these kids' businesses. What they have been able to accomplish in the last two years would be an envy of many start-up business owners in the United States. They are saving, investing, and diversifying all the time. They are casting bread everywhere they go!

We finished the day with a wonderful time of fellowship and dinner. Now we rest up for day three, where we will worship with many of the staff, meet two groups that are partnered with sister churches, and learn more about the diverse culture of Tanzania.

Zoe Empowers trip update.
We arrived at 4:30 am Friday. ✈️😴We were able to rest for the morning then spent the rest of the day diving into the beauty that Zoe offers well beyond the three year program. We meet with young adults that have graduated the program. They have expanded their business, started new ones, while continuing to care for siblings. They expanded their dreams for themselves and believe the potential God has for them, all with tremendous humility and gratitude. They are trying new things, giving others employment opportunities, and building beautiful homes. They are being a positive change in their communities! This is the rippling effect that this wonderful ministry has years after the kids are officially graduated! We were asked where we saw God today, it was the face of Christ smiling on these beautiful young people that had been cast aside by others at one point in their lives, and now are being a force of good for all they encounter! Our team is in awe today of these young people.

What an incredible program! We love that our congregation is so committed to this ministry and it's work to ensure no child in Mansfield ISD goes hungry throughout the summer.

🙌 WOW, First Methodist Mansfield — YOU showed up BIG for our kids this summer!

Thanks to your incredible generosity, our congregation collected just under 5,500 individual food items with a monetary value of approximately $5,690 for Feed the Kids Summer — and that doesn't even include the monetary donations given through our Feed the City offerings!

These donations will go directly toward supplementing lunches and breakfasts for children in Mansfield ISD this summer, making sure no child goes hungry when school is out.

Thank you for being the hands and feet of Christ right here in Mansfield. 💛

What an incredible weekend! 🙌❤️

This past weekend, our church came together for both Hands of Christ and Little Hands of Christ — and wow, did our people show up!

With over 20 participants across both projects, we were able to bless THREE families in our community, working at three different homes and putting our faith into action in a very real way.

But what really fills our hearts? Our 12 young servants who took part in Little Hands of Christ. Watching the next generation learn what it means to live a life of service — to truly be the hands and feet of Jesus — is something we will never take for granted. 🌟

We are so proud of this church. So proud of every single person who gave their time, their energy, and their hearts this weekend.

This is what it looks like to love your neighbor. This is who we are. 💛
