As we begin our four-week series on the distinctives of Gospel Joy Church, Pastor Jordan Hecox introduces us to the first distinctive of our church: Rooted Word. In Matthew 7:24–29, he walks us through three important questions: What is the storm mentioned in this passage, how can we endure it, and what does this have to do with the Gospel?

As we conclude our summer series in the Psalms, Pastor Jordan Hecox preaches a moving sermon from Psalm 22, asking the question: Why did our Lord Jesus Christ, in Matthew 27, choose these words to utter before He gave up His spirit on the cross? He shows us that the answer is found in Psalm 22, a Psalm of Agony and Anticipation.

Pastor Jordan Hecox delivers a powerful message from Psalm 21, reminding us that we should sing, as King David did, when God shows His strength. We will find that God shows His strength in two specific ways: by blessing the king, and by breaking his enemies.

In Psalm 20, Pastoral Resident Kyle Jackson shows us what it looks like for a people to look to their king for their assurance of salvation. The argument of Psalm 20 is this: If God saves the king, he will also save the king’s people. We will see this by establishing two premises: the king and his people share the same fate, and God will save the king because he trusts in him.

What are the most important books? Pastoral Resident Josiah Bennett shows us how Psalm 19 answers that question by revealing that the three most important books everyone needs to read are: The book of Creation, the book of Scripture, and the book of your own heart.

We're excited to gather together again tonight for our regular Wednesday night prayer meeting at 6:30 PM!

As we resume, we'd also like to share an important schedule update. Moving forward, our Wednesday evening schedule will be as follows: Beginning Wednesday, August 5, prayer meetings will be held on the first and third Wednesdays of each month at 6:30 PM.

On the second and fourth Wednesdays, we encourage everyone to use that time to gather in smaller groups for fellowship and worship together.

We look forward to sharing these evenings with you as we continue to grow together in prayer, fellowship, and worship. We hope to see you tonight!

Speaking on Psalm 18, Pastor Jordan Hecox walks us through David's song of praise, showing us the portrait of a man who is radically centered on God Himself. Throughout this message, we will discover that the radically God-centered life is a life of praise, with three points: praise God because He saves, because He sanctifies, and because He strengthens.

Pastoral Resident Kyle Jackson walks us through Psalm 17 and explores what it means to approach God with confidence.

As we study this Psalm, we see that if we want to be confident before God when we come to Him, we must have a good reason for that confidence. What we learn from Psalm 17 is that righteousness is the basis of our confidence before God. This confidence is expressed in three ways: righteousness gives confidence that God listens, delivers, and that He satisfies.

Who is able to dwell in the presence of the King of the universe? In this sermon, Pastor Jordan Hecox walks us through Psalm 15, exploring what it means to live a blameless life and the kind of character that marks those who belong in God's presence. Together, we'll consider three things: the prize, the portrait, and the pursuit of the blameless life.

Pastor Jordan Hecox preaches from one of the most beloved Psalms, Psalm 23, and reminds us that no matter what comes, everything is going to be alright. As followers of Jesus Christ, we can find our contentment in something far more solid than our circumstances, knowing that our contentment is a blood-bought, single-source, and an "even though" contentment.
