Last evening we were pleased to welcome Drs. Joe and Paddy Favazza to our cloister garden for dinner to honor them as Joe concludes his service as president of . We are grateful for their friendship and will miss them as they continue on their next adventure.

Amadeus Daniel Cundiff, O.S.B., a member of the Saint Anselm monastic community, was ordained to the Diaconate on Tuesday April 21, 2026, the Solemnity of Saint Anselm of Canterbury, patron of our Abbey and College.

Today, April 21, we celebrate the feast day of our patron, Saint Anselm of Canterbury.

“For I do not seek to understand in order that I may believe, but I believe in order to understand. For this also I believe that unless I believe I shall not understand.”

We also give thanks to God as our Brother Amadeus will be ordained to the diaconate this evening at 4:30 PM.

📣 BIG NEWS: We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Michael Lewis has been named the 12th president of Saint Anselm College! 🎉👏

Dr. Lewis currently serves as Provost and Chief Academic Officer at Saint Louis University. He will succeed President Joseph A. Favazza, Ph.D., who is retiring on June 30.

It’s great to have an experienced and dynamic leader who will guide our Anselmian community into its next chapter. We can’t wait to show him around the Hilltop!

Today we celebrate the Feast of Saint Scholastica, twin sister of Saint Benedict! May her faithfulness and love guide us along our journey. This stained glass window, created by Silvia Nicholas, is in our monastic refectory and depicts the final meeting of the "holy twins."
