“And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, [13] To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good? (Deut. 10:12-13)

“He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the LORD require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?” (Micah 6:8)

What exactly does the Lord say that he requires of his children? To love God with all our heart, soul, and mind. To fear God. To walk in all his ways and commandments. To serve God with all our heart. To do justly. To love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God.

This Wed night, we studied the covenant of the rainbow from Gen 9. I was reminded of this article I wrote years ago. As we look back in the rear view mirror of our lives, can we see the rainbow in the aftermath of the past storm, or have we allowed that storm to create bitterness to where we have the wrong angle and perspective to not see the beauty that God might have brought that we might miss?
