Philippians 4:8, “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”
There is an invisible part of you that is always at work—your thoughts.
Thoughts have been estimated to generate around 1,000-3,000 words a minute. In 2 Corinthians 10:5, the Apostle Paul exhorts you to take every one of your thoughts captive. His words describe a military objective in your spiritual battle, with the battlefield being your thought life. It is in the present tense, meaning that the battle is an ongoing one, and it is active, so it requires effort to bring all your thoughts into alignment with Christ Jesus.
An old saying says, “Sow a thought, reap an action. Sow an action, reap a habit. Sow a habit, reap a character. Sow a character, reap a destiny.”
You are in a spiritual war, and the battle is a daily one. Begin in God’s Word, memorize and repeat passages, pray, seek the peace of God, and dwell on godly things. It all begins there with the focus of your mind!

Genesis 2:15, “And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it.”
Most everyone I know hates work! If you look at the creation story work came along before sin. It wasn’t until man sinned that work became drudgery. However…we don’t find in the Bible where man was ever supposed to quit working.
Today is Labor Day. A day set aside to celebrate America’s workers and accomplishments. Today is a day to celebrate…not work! Enjoy a day of rest.

Sunday sickness
Morbus Sabbaticus or Sunday sickness. It is a disease peculiar to church members. The attack comes on suddenly on Sundays. No symptoms are felt on Saturday night; the patient sleeps well and awakes feeling well; eats a hearty breakfast, but about church time the attack comes on and continues until services are over for the morning. Then the patient feels well enough to eat a good lunch. In the afternoon he is able to go about, go for a car ride and go visiting. In the evening he eats a good dinner. But just before church time the attack comes again he retires to his recliner and watches TV until bedtime. He then arises and goes to work or school without any problems. He does not feel any of the returned symptoms until the next Sunday. The peculiar features are as follows: it attacks members of the church, it never makes an appearance except on Sunday, it never last more than 24 hours, no physician is ever called, no remedy is known except for repentance and prayer.
Hope you have a great weekend. See you Sunday.

2 Kings 6:16, “And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.”
At this moment Elisha and his servant are surrounded by the Syrian army. In Israel’s war with Syria, Elisha’s prophetic insight had continually given away Syrian battle strategies. The army is here attempting to end Israel’s prophetic advantage.
Prayer is the vital turning point in this entire passage. First, it is through prayer that the plans of the adversary are discerned. Second, prayer is the key to dispelling the panic of Elisha’s servant. After declaring that the Syrians are outnumbered by the two of them, Elisha prays. He does not pray that the Lord will show his servant yet another miracle. He asks that he be able to see into another dimension.
The answer came immediately. “And behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha” (v. 17). They had always been there. The Lord had anticipated their need and provided. However, it was only through eyes of faith that the resource could be seen.
So today, don’t be afraid! Look up with eyes of faith. The Lord has outnumbered your enemies!
