What a day of celebration as we honored 47 years of legacy, faith, and God’s faithfulness. From generation to generation, God has proven Himself faithful to this house.

β€œThe glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former…” - Haggai 2:9

We thank God for every prayer prayed, every sacrifice made, every soul touched, and every miracle witnessed over these 47 years. And according to His Word, our greatest days are still ahead of us!

Legacy Sunday was nothing short of amazing!

Pastor McNeil preached a powerful message entitled, β€œThe House That Outlived The Fire” from Haggai 2:3-9.

We were reminded that the fire was real, the losses were real, and the changes were real, but they were not final. God preserved this house because He still has glory assigned to it.

The fire changed the house, but it didn’t finish the house.
The fire couldn’t remove God’s presence.
And the fire could not cancel future glory.

We’re still here because God isn’t finished. The best is not behind us. The fire didn’t get the last word. The glory did!

Tomorrow is LEGACY SUNDAY at The Garden!

Join us as we celebrate 47 years of God’s faithfulness, favor, and excellence at Gethsemane Apostolic Church. For nearly five decades, God has blessed this ministry to be a place of worship, healing, deliverance, and transformation.

As we honor our rich legacy, we will also celebrate Father’s Day and thank God for the fathers and father figures who lead, sacrifice, and make a lasting impact on our families and community.

There’s just something special about gathering together early and seeking the face of God. The atmosphere was charged with faith, the prayers were fervent, and we believe God moved in a mighty way!

For the last 47 years, God has blessed Gethsemane Apostolic Church with extraordinary leadership.

Our founder, Elder Shem Ellis, served for only two years, but his impact was immeasurable. God used him to lay the foundation and prophetically declare much of what we see today.

Then came Bishop Calvin McNeil, our establishmentarian. Saved at 30 years old and pastoring by the age of 33, God did a quick work in his life. For 44 years, God used him to lead thousands of souls through Lynchburg to be healed, saved, delivered, and transformed by the power of Jesus Christ. On March 15, 2025, our beloved Bishop went home to be with the Lord.

Today, God has entrusted the mantle to our pastor, Elder Orin B. McNeil II. In 1988, Apostle Ronald Carter of Freeport, New York, prophesied that the next pastor would be someone born and raised in this church. Elder McNeil is the fulfillment of that prophecy. Born and raised in The Garden, God is using him mightily as he continues the legacy that began 47 years ago.

We thank God for 47 years of godly leadership, unwavering vision, and faithful ministry.

The foundation is strong. The mantle is in place. The prophecy is still unfolding.

Last night, Pastor McNeil taught a powerful lesson entitled β€œWhat Makes Us Apostolic?”

We learned that being Apostolic is more than a name on a church sign or a style of worship. Being Apostolic means we are committed to the truth handed down by the apostles.

The Apostolic Church is built upon the revelation of Jesus Christ, the message of repentance, baptism in Jesus’ Name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost. Throughout the Book of Acts, the people changed, the cities changed, and the circumstances changed, but the message never changed.

The Holy Ghost birthed the Church, but doctrine grounded the Church.

β€œAnd they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine…” - Acts 2:42

This week is a week of history!

For 47 years, God has faithfully blessed Gethsemane Apostolic Church.

What began in 1981 when Minister Calvin McNeil came to Lynchburg, South Carolina, and led Gethsemane Apostolic Church in an old dilapidated building known as β€œThe Boozer,” has become a powerful testimony of God’s faithfulness.

In 1984, Elder Calvin McNeil and the saints of Gethsemane Apostolic Church led the way in building our first sanctuary. As God continued to bless, that sanctuary was expanded in 1993 to accommodate the growth that He was sending.

Then in 2005, God opened the door for Bishop Calvin McNeil and the Gethsemane Apostolic Church family to construct a beautiful multi-million dollar edifice in Lynchburg, South Carolina. A lasting testament to God’s favor and provision.

Through every season, every challenge, every revival, and every victory, God has remained faithful.

As we celebrate 47 years of legacy, we honor those who sacrificed, prayed, gave, and believed. We thank God for our rich heritage, and we look ahead with expectation for what He has yet to do.

Forty-seven years later, we’re still standing.
Still preaching truth.
Still worshipping in spirit and in truth.
Still seeing lives changed.
Still believing for greater.

God has been faithful for 47 years, and we believe the best is yet to come.
