We've talked a lot about the foster care crisis — and you may be wondering, where do we even begin?

The answer, as it so often is, starts with the Church.

In Robeson County alone, nearly 390 children are in foster care — with fewer than 100 licensed foster homes to welcome them. That gap is real, and it is urgent. But so is the hope.

That's why our Odum Home team is putting boots on the ground — showing up in the community, sitting across the table from churches, and sharing both the need and the path forward. On August 16, Campus Manager Megan Locklear and Senior Director Kay Burriss joined the Robeson Baptist Association for their Meant for Mission resource event at West Lumberton Baptist Church — connecting with neighbors, building relationships, and casting a vision for what's possible when the Church says yes to a child.

Because we believe the solution to the foster care crisis isn't out of reach. It lives in congregations just like yours.

🙏Thank you so much for all that came out to support our “Meant For the Mission” ministry partners gathering.

⛪️Hosted at West Lumberton Baptist, we had around 18 ministry partners and 3 missionaries represented from our area. About 10 churches represented over 60 people in attendance.
Thank you to all who took part in representing a ministry or organization of the event. Events are not possible without the body of Christ in one accord.
