God created the world.
God created you.
And He created you with purpose.

Genesis 1 reminds us that everything starts with God. In a world constantly telling us to look inward, define ourselves, trust ourselves, and make our own way, Scripture starts somewhere completely different…

God is the Creator.
We are His creation.
And that changes everything.

The question isn’t, “Do I worship?”
The question is, “What am I worshiping?”

We can take good things…success, relationships, money, family, comfort, identity, and give them a place only God was meant to have.

Idolatry doesn’t always look like bowing down to a statue. Sometimes it looks like asking something created to give us what only the Creator can give.

Security.
Identity.
Purpose.
Peace.

Good things become dangerous when we put them in the wrong place.

Genesis 1 gives us a different way to live.
You don’t have to create yourself.
You don’t have to define your own worth.
You don’t have to carry the weight of being in control of everything.

You are God’s creation, made in His image and given purpose. Dependence on God isn’t weakness. It’s how we were created to live.

There’s more waiting for you at church tomorrow than an empty seat. There’s a community. People who know your name. People who will notice when you’re missing. People to laugh with, worship with, and do life with.

Come hang out with us tomorrow at 10AM. We’d love to see you!

UPON THIS ROCK.
Jesus asked, “Who do you say that I am?”. In a world full of idols, competing voices, and competing authorities, the answer matters.

The church has one foundation: Jesus.

We aren’t inviting people into a personality, a program, a building, or a preference. We’re inviting people to Jesus.

I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH.

Jesus is the builder. Jesus owns the church. Jesus has made the promise. But He chooses to use His people.

We are the laborers.
We are His witnesses.
We are ambassadors for Christ.

We don’t build the church in our own strength.
Jesus is building His church and He invites us to participate.

JESUS WINS.

The church isn’t called to hide from a hostile world. We’re called to move forward. If death can’t stop what Jesus is building, then we don’t have to live afraid. We don’t save anyone. We don’t change anyone’s heart. We don’t build the church ourselves. Jesus is building His church. And because we know who Jesus is, what Jesus is doing, and how the story ends..we can participate in His mission with courage.

Look what Jesus has done.

Maybe you didn’t want to go to church today. Because you already knew you’d spend half the service in the other room with your toddler. Because someone will cry. Someone will need a snack. Someone will need a diaper change. Because it feels like you’re barely getting anything out of the service yourself.

But parents, go anyway.

Because even when your kids aren’t sitting quietly through the sermon, they’re watching you choose Jesus. They’re learning that church matters. That worship matters. That community matters. That we make time for God even when it isn’t convenient. You might feel like you’re missing the sermon, but you’re not missing the mission.

Showing up and bringing your babies with you is holy work. 🤍 Keep going, parents. Your little ones are watching.

Zacchaeus wasn’t looking for Jesus. He was stuck, ashamed, rejected, and alone. But Jesus saw him. He called him by name. He went to his house. He pursued him.

Jesus doesn’t wait for us to clean ourselves up. He moves toward us. And if Jesus pursued us when we weren’t pursuing Him, who is He asking you to pursue?

Who is drifting?
Who feels far from God?
Who needs someone to notice them?

Maybe you are the one Jesus is pursuing. Or maybe there’s one more person God has placed in your life. Don’t let fear, insecurity, or the thought of “I’m not qualified” stop you.

Notice them.
Move toward them.
Pursue them.
Because eternity matters.
