It is time for me to pack up and head home. The last two days have been so impactful; full of rich conversations, visiting hospitals, visiting St. Joseph’s orphanage, eating many delicious meals, and saying goodbye to people who have become dear friends. A beautiful day of worship. I was able to see five of our six partner churches and worship with many of them. I presented our gifts to them and they were overjoyed. A special thank you to Linda Correnti for the banners and our quilting team for the lap quilts. And maybe you can spy the gift they gave me? A beautiful dress! They asked me to wear it today and it was my honor and joy. ❤️

Today was a medical day. We visited the Salien Lutheran Hospital, as well as Arusha Lutheran Medical Center, a nursing school. Bishop Fidlar and I were able to give Grace Lutheran lap quilts to moms and babies who were in the NICU. They were very appreciated. Thank you to our knitting group! Today was another amazing day here in Tanzania. We spent the day with our companion diocese building relationships, playing games, and worshipping our Lord. It was a full day of conversations, laughter, and dreaming together. Praise God for God’s goodness and love.

Today has been a day to remember. A day filled with God sightings, sacred moments and so much love. Our group travelled to hear about and witness the amazing work of Empowered Girls. We got to hear from the girls their hopes and dreams for themselves, and for all girls. “Girls are strong. Girls are leaders. Girls are capable. Gender inequality should be demolished,” are just a few of their statements. God is at work, my friends. These girls give me hope. They filled me with joy. And they reminded me, too, that girls can do anything. Thank you God, for these girls and the work of this organization.
