The Hebrew word ezer means strong help, aid, rescue, and one who comes with strength when help is needed.

It is the word God used for the woman in Genesis:

“I will make him a helper suitable for him.”
— Genesis 2:18

Ezer is also repeatedly used of God Himself.

“The LORD is my strength and my shield.”
— Psalm 28:7

“We wait in hope for the LORD; He is our help and our shield.”
— Psalm 33:20

“He is your shield and helper and your glorious sword.”
— Deuteronomy 33:29

“The LORD is a warrior.”
— Exodus 15:3

“God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.”
— Psalm 46:1

Ezer is powerful help.

She is a warrior.

She is a defender.

She is a shield.

She is strong help when trouble comes.

She is a sword in battle.

She stands beside her husband with strength, courage, protection, wisdom, and power.

Proverbs 31:10 says:

“Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies.”

The Hebrew phrase translated virtuous woman is eshet chayil—a woman of valor.

Eshet means woman or wife.

Chayil means:

Strength.
Courage.
Might.
Ability.
Power.
Force.
Valor.

The same Hebrew word is used elsewhere in Scripture to describe warriors, mighty men, military strength, and armies.

The virtuous woman is eshet chayil—a woman of valor, a warrior, and a shield for her husband.

Proverbs 18:22 says:

“He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.”

The Hebrew word for favor is ratson, meaning the Lord’s goodwill, delight, acceptance, approval, and pleasure.

Psalm 5:12 says:

“Surely, LORD, You bless the righteous; You surround them with Your favor as with a shield.”

The man who finds a wife obtains favor from the Lord, and the favor of the Lord surrounds him like a shield.

A woman is ezer—a warrior, a defender, a shield, a sword, strong help when trouble comes, and an ever-present help beside her husband.

She is eshet chayil—a woman of valor.

Official Notice from A Home for the Lost Church of God

Our church family is currently experiencing profound grief, shock, and emotional trauma. During this difficult time, we are asking the public to show basic decency and compassion toward innocent individuals who are attempting to process circumstances that have deeply affected them.

A Home for the Lost Church of God will not tolerate any continued campaign of harassment, intimidation, cyberbullying, defamation, threats, or the deliberate publication of false and damaging statements against the church, its leadership, its members, or their families.

Let us be absolutely clear: compassion should never be mistaken for weakness, and silence should never be interpreted as permission.

The actions of one individual do not justify attacking, threatening, humiliating, or attempting to destroy an entire congregation of innocent people. Our church acted responsibly when concerns were brought to our attention, and we will continue to cooperate with all lawful authorities and conduct ourselves with integrity.

However, anyone who knowingly publishes or repeats false allegations, impersonates another person through fake accounts, encourages harassment, interferes with church operations, threatens individuals, or attempts to damage reputations through malicious online activity may be held legally accountable.

All relevant posts, comments, private messages, account information, photographs, videos, and other electronic communications are being preserved and documented. Where appropriate, evidence may be provided to law enforcement, social-media platforms, and legal counsel. The church reserves the right to pursue all available civil and criminal remedies permitted by law, including action relating to defamation, harassment, threats, impersonation, invasion of privacy, and intentional interference with the church and its members.

This statement is not intended to silence truthful discussion, legitimate questions, or lawful reporting. It is directed toward those who have chosen to spread falsehoods, target innocent families, incite harassment, or exploit a tragedy for attention, entertainment, retaliation, or personal gain.

We remain committed to truth, accountability, compassion, and healing. We are praying for every person who has been harmed, and we ask others to allow innocent people the space to grieve without being subjected to further cruelty.

We sincerely hope no legal action becomes necessary. Nevertheless, the continued targeting, bullying, harassment, or defamation of this church and its people will not be ignored, excused, or permitted to continue without consequence.

Official Statement from A Home for the Lost Church of God

Our church family is heartbroken over the tragic events involving an individual who had been connected to our church community.

First, our hearts and prayers are with the young person involved and with every family affected by this situation. Any inappropriate conduct involving a minor is serious, and A Home for the Lost Church of God does not tolerate, excuse, defend, or cover up wrongdoing of any kind.

When concerns were quickly brought to our attention by the minor’s father indicating that he believed an inappropriate relationship may have existed between this individual and a 16-year-old minor, our church reacted immediately. We took the matter seriously and reported it to the proper authorities. We did what we were required to do, and what we believe was right to do, by placing the matter in the hands of law enforcement.

We also want to clarify that this individual was not a preacher, pastor, or clergy leader in our church. He did not serve as the senior pastor, lead pastor, overseer, or any ministerial leader of our congregation. He was an attendee who had his own podcast. He asked and was allowed, at times, to use a small upstairs room at the church to record podcast content. Reports referring to him broadly as “clergy” do not accurately represent his role or authority within our church.

We understand that the public is shocked and disturbed by what has been reported. Our church family is also shocked, heartbroken, and grieving. The actions of one person should not be used to condemn or attack an entire congregation of people who had no knowledge of wrongdoing and who acted immediately when concerns were brought forward.

Based on what was reported to us, this incident did not occur during a regular church service or during a tutoring session. We understand it occurred in connection with a private birthday party. Still, regardless of the setting, any inappropriate conduct involving a 16-year-old minor is unacceptable and was treated as such.

Sadly, people who intend harm can hide in many places — churches, schools, workplaces, organizations, and communities. That is why every institution must take concerns seriously, respond immediately, and report appropriately. We ask that people not use the actions of one individual to attack an entire church body, but instead join us in standing firmly for truth, protection, accountability, and the safety of all children and teenagers.

Because this matter involved law enforcement, a minor, and grieving families, we will not share private details, speculate, or discuss information that could further harm those involved. We will continue to cooperate with any appropriate authorities if asked to do so.

A Home for the Lost Church of God stands firmly for the protection of children, teenagers, and vulnerable people. We believe the church must be a place of safety, accountability, holiness, and truth. We are reviewing our policies, procedures, and safeguards to make sure our church remains a safe place for every child, student, and family.

We ask the public and media to please be mindful that real families, a young person, and an entire church community are grieving and processing this tragedy. We ask for prayer, compassion, and respect for everyone affected.

Our church will continue to trust God, seek truth, support those who have been harmed, and walk in integrity through this painful time.
