In September, we always take time to remember our founders and the work they faithfully did for many years. The Great Commission's story is one of miracles, vision, and hope - and it all began with a young Ghanaian man named Emmanuel. We now lovingly refer to him as "Papa Emmanuel." The name "Emmanuel" means "God with us," and his name is a reminder that God is with us now and forevermore. We praise God for the legacy of Emmanuel and his wife, Patricia, and their faithfulness to the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations.

Pray with us this week for the church at Obuobi. Although it was established in 2017, they still do not have a completed building to gather for worship, prayer, children's ministry, and community outreach. Please pray with us that God would raise up donors who would help complete this work so the church can continue to grow and multiply.

Lord, we thank you for the church at Obuobi and all those who make up the body. We thank you that your church is still growing and multiplying in Ghana, as evidenced by this church. We ask that you continue the work of multiplication throughout Ghana and through the Obuobi church. We ask that you raise up donors who can help this church build a structure in which they can gather, teach their children, and be formed as disciples of Jesus Christ. We ask for provision of resources for this congregation and for all those who constitute this body. It is in the name of Jesus we ask all these things, Amen.

Join us this week in praying for the church in Atebubu. Atebubu is located in central Ghana and in an earthquake zone. Much care is needed to secure the buildings so they are safe. The church needs help completing and maintaining the church building. This friendly and warm church has planted additional branches.

Lord, thank you for the church at Atebubu. We ask that you provide for this church's needs and the needs of its branches. We ask for healing for all those in this church, protection over the church and its members, and that peace would reign in and among the people. We ask for protection against earthquakes or storms. We ask for wisdom and vision as this church continues to grow and do the work of gospel ministry in its community. Let no weapon formed against them prosper. Lord, please make your presence felt among the church members today and every day. We ask all of these things in the name of Jesus. Amen.

The Great Commission partners with Bryant Mission Grammar Schools in Ghana to reach communities with excellent educational resources and the love of Christ. We currently need another school bus as our largest school has grown so large that we can no longer shuttle all the children in the one we have. Join us this week in praying for the church in Kumasi. Kumasi is the capital of the Asante region, and this church has ample opportunities for mission and evangelism. The church building was built in the late 1970s, and the church now far exceeds the building's capacity. The church members began laying the foundation for a new building, and they need help continuing and completing the work so that all the new church members can gather together.

Lord, we give you thanks and glory today for the church at Kumasi. Thank you for its continued growth and its central placement in the capital city. Thank you for the church members and their willingness to work hard to build the church, both the building and the people. King Jesus, please provide for this church's needs and let them see you miraculously complete what you have begun. Provide for their needs, protect their families, and sustain their hope. Continue to grow the church and its branches. We ask all of this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
