Lincoln Westminster Presbyterian Church

Lincoln Westminster Presbyterian Church We seek to expand our lives in faith, connect people deeply, and make a difference through service! You are always welcome. Come join us in a very special place.

At Westminster we have a long-standing tradition of exploring and celebrating God’s glory in this very special place. Westminster is a place of heartfelt compassion, intelligent faith, and welcoming hospitality. Located at the corner of Sheridan Blvd. and South Street, Westminster’s programs of caring and sharing, learning, music and the arts, and fellowship reach out from the community we call We

stminster to communities near and far. A place that is: Spiritually Alive, Broadly Inclusive, and Growing In Mission. We Are… Spiritually Alive
Yes, we do Bible study of the kind that is both spiritually lively and intellectually sound. Yes, we talk about a wide variety of topics:

•The intersection of science and religion.
•Faith and the arts;
•spirituality, past and present;
•controversial issues, such as torture,
•practical issues, such as how to balance your budget;
•family issues, such as how to strengthen your parenting skills. Yes, we have a variety of small groups to help people grow in their faith friendships. Yes, we have a long list of community building events that help people join together in the celebration of the life God has given us. Yes, we are open to new ideas. One of the strengths of Westminster is an atmosphere where the people of the church are given permission to think creatively and work together cooperatively to make dreams turn into reality. Yes, we have a place for new people. In any given year, our church leadership groups are made up of a significant number of people new to the church, as well as well-seasoned long term members. We Are… Broadly Inclusive
Being inclusive is a large part of our Christian identity. Like a diamond, being inclusive has many facets. Overall, it has to do with welcoming people in the Spirit of Christ. This is a congregation that welcomes:

•liberals, conservatives, libertarians, and undecided into community together,
•men and women in all leadership positions;
•youth into decision-making about our future;
•children into worship;
•open conversations and dialogue about controversial issues;
•people of different national, ethnic and racial backgrounds;
•people of different sexes and different sexual orientations;
•people of every marital status;
•all God’s children to eat together at the Lord’s supper. We have a place at Christ’s table for you. If you are interested in membership, please contact one of the pastors or the church office for more information (402-475-6702)

🎶 Our first official choir rehearsal is this evening! 🎶
Join us this evening (Wednesday, September 2) at 6:30 p.m. We can't wait to sing with all of you!

If you joined us for worship yesterday, you heard Pastor Chris continue The Exodus Saga with Part 2: The Burning Bush, reflecting on Exodus 2:23–3:15.

When Moses stood before the burning bush, he wasn’t convinced he was the right person for what God was asking of him. His response was simple: “Who am I?”

But God’s answer wasn’t a list of Moses’ qualifications. It was a promise we find in Exodus 3:12: “I will be with you.”

As you step into this new week ahead, remember that you don’t have to feel completely ready, capable, or certain before taking the next step. Sometimes faith is simply trusting that God is with us wherever we go. Remember, whatever good work God calls us to, we can trust that He is right there with us.

Whatever this week brings, go forward knowing God goes with you.

This past Saturday, some of our wonderful Presbyterian Women gathered to help pack hygiene kits for the Lincoln Hygiene Network during their annual fall kickoff.

These kits help provide essential hygiene items throughout our community to those who may not otherwise have access to them.

We’re grateful for our Presbyterian Women and their continued commitment to serving our neighbors and putting faith into action. Thank you to everyone who helped pack, organize, and support this important ministry!

Last Sunday, we debuted KidCon during our regular worship service. A huge thank you to all of the kids who joined us for some out of this world fun! We loved seeing Faith Village filled with so much energy, laughter, learning, and fun.

And of course, none of this would have been possible without our amazing volunteers! Thank you to everyone who shared their time, energy, and talents to help make the day a success.

If you weren't able to join us last Sunday, don't worry! We're already planning round 2 in September. More details and registration info coming soon!
