This Sunday morning at Pilgrim Reformed Church, the Apostle Paul told us how we can show our love, how we can truly love and not pretend, how to act in a loving manner, not a vindictive one. God made sure that our bible is filled with instructions on the importance of love. Loving is what He wants of us - to love Him, and to love others as we love ourselves.

This Sunday morning at Pilgrim Reformed Church, we listened as the Apostle Paul, the prophet Hosea, and even Jesus Himself taught us what it means to love sacrificially. God wants us to make of ourselves a living sacrifice in service to Him by helping and loving others.

Our air conditioning has been out for two weeks now, forcing us to cancel last Sunday's service as the sanctuary temperature exceeded 92 degrees. This Sunday we met in our Fellowship Hall, with windows open and fans buzzing, just like in days long past. There is no recording of this service.

This Sunday morning at Pilgrim Reformed Church, we learned how Jesus prayed more than anyone else. He also stressed the importance of persistent prayer. A good prayer life strengthens our faith. It gives us some good, personal, quality time with our heavenly Father.

Sunday, September 13th Pilgrim Reformed Church is having a Homecoming Worship service beginning at 10:30 am. It is a time for all Pilgrim members and new friends to gather and rejoice in the Lord. So, spread the word around to folks who haven’t been with us in a while and invite a neighbor or friends to come and worship with us that Sunday. After worship all are invited to a luncheon in the Fellowship Hall. The menu will be meatloaf, ham, green beans, potatoes, coleslaw, dessert, tea, & coffee.

This Sunday morning at Pilgrim Reformed Church, both God, through Moses, and Jesus, as quoted by Matthew and John, told us of the importance of faith. Sometimes things just don't make sense, but that's when we need to rely on our faith. We keep our faith strong by focusing on Jesus. So let's turn our eyes upon Jesus and not let the storm, the wind and waves, distract us.

This Sunday morning at Pilgrim Reformed Church, we continued reading in the Apostle Paul's Letter to the Romans. In this passage, Paul laments that so many of his Jewish brothers will not come to Christ, will not accept Jesus as the Son of God, as the Messiah. They will not listen to God and it pains Paul, for God has given them so much and has never failed to fulfill all His promises. But then he notes that sometimes God will bless one person, but not another. He blessed Jacob, but not Esau. It's not because God is unfair in His actions, it's that He can choose who He wants to bless, He can choose to do what He wants to do. It's all God's choice. Since we know that God is working all things to the good for those who love Him and are the called to His purpose, then we can trust Him, and trust in His choices. For He knows what is for our ultimate good.

This Sunday morning at Pilgrim Reformed Church, we read in the Apostle Paul's Letter to the Romans of how, now that we belong to Jesus, we should live by the power of the Holy Spirit. Paul reassures us that God loves us and is always on our side. He loves us so much that He sent His own Holy Spirit to live within us, to be our constant Companion and Guide. So no matter how dark it gets around us, we can know that God is there with us, watching over us, loving us.

This Sunday morning at Pilgrim Reformed Church, we listened as Jesus told two parables describing the kingdom of heaven. In each, He warned of the ultimate fate that awaits those who do evil. There is still time, before Jesus returns to judge the world, for godly people to help the non-believers make the right choice in how to live the rest of their life in order to avoid an eternity of pain and suffering. Let's help them now, while we still draw breath.

This Sunday morning at Pilgrim Reformed Church, we stepped into the light that is Jesus. Jesus came to cast the light of truth into the darkness of our sin. He is the Light that darkness can never overcome. And when He returned to heaven, He left us with the task to continue lighting the way for others by shining our light for all to see. Let us walk in the light and lead others onto the path of righteousness, all to the glory of God.
