Mt Tabor UCC

Mt Tabor UCC No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you're welcome here at Mt. Tabor UCC! Join us on our journey at the Mount!

We are a friendly, welcoming congregation, who enjoys worshipping God together, growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, and serving our community and the world. Our church is made up of people of all ages, from families with young children and teenagers, to singles, and middle-aged and older adults. We offer Sunday School classes for all ages, a great nursery, and Children's Church for

children up to first grade. There are many opportunities for fellowship and service, including the Extreme Team Kid's Club, the TLC Youth Group, the Women's Guild, the Churchmen's Fellowship, and the Holly Grove Senior Citizens. We meet regularly for Bible Study on Thursday evenings at 7pm, and have a long tradition of successful Cub and Boy Scout programs that meet weekly throughout the year. Our worship services have a traditional flavor, with exceptional music and relevant messages. Visitors and members alike are invited to participate as they feel comfortable, which is made easy by following along in our printed order of service bulletins. Come visit with us, and experience the life-changing qualities of belonging to a community of faith.

Hello, Mt. Tabor family and friends!

We hope you take time this holiday weekend to reflect on this observance honoring our veterans who have died. Be sure to look for the pictorial display of the sons of Mt. Tabor UCC in the church hallway. These are reprints from our Veterans’ books, created by Boyd Smith, Lawrence Black, and Glenn Everhart, copied and presented by Joan Smith Clingerman and Jerry and Evelyn Smith, who are committed to maintaining, preserving, and continually developing these books for church history. Also, many thanks to Rita and Ricky Everhart for continuing to place American flags on the Veterans' graves, and to Fred White for keeping records of those graves.

"First Hope Ministries Campaign" donation items for May are cold and allergy medicines. Meds are dispensed in the office, so any size will work.

There's still time to register youth for the UCC Southern Conference Youth Event in Charlotte on July 7-10. See details on the church bulletin board. Or, visit: https://bit.ly/4wK58vG

Please join us for worship on Sunday, May 17. We will begin with HeBrews coffee and social time at 9:00 am, followed by Spiritual Formation for adults and Sunday School for children and youth at 9:30 am. Morning worship is at 10:30, with Rev. Smith sharing the message, "The Ascension: Watching the Clouds!" based on Acts 1:9-11. Invite your neighbors and friends to come with you. At Mt. Tabor UCC, ALL are welcome!

Among our announcements is:

Congratulations to our 2026 graduates, Alyssa Warfford and Nick Tuttle.

The Women's Guild thanks everyone who supported their yard sale fundraiser.

The Churchmen's Fellowship received a generous gift from the family of Lowell Roof, who was an active and vital member of the group for many years. This donation will support our community and others in need through the men's group outreach.

The Southern Conference of the UCC has several upcoming events for women and youth. Please see the flyers on the bulletin board.
