Mt Tabor UCC No matter who you are, or where you are on life's journey, you're welcome here at Mt. Tabor UCC! Join us on our journey at the Mount!

We are a friendly, welcoming congregation, who enjoys worshipping God together, growing in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ, and serving our community and the world. Our church is made up of people of all ages, from families with young children and teenagers, to singles, and middle-aged and older adults. We offer Sunday School classes for all ages, a great nursery, and Children's Church for

children up to first grade. There are many opportunities for fellowship and service, including the Extreme Team Kid's Club, the TLC Youth Group, the Women's Guild, the Churchmen's Fellowship, and the Holly Grove Senior Citizens. We meet regularly for Bible Study on Thursday evenings at 7pm, and have a long tradition of successful Cub and Boy Scout programs that meet weekly throughout the year. Our worship services have a traditional flavor, with exceptional music and relevant messages. Visitors and members alike are invited to participate as they feel comfortable, which is made easy by following along in our printed order of service bulletins. Come visit with us, and experience the life-changing qualities of belonging to a community of faith.

The Mt Tabor Churchmen’s Fellowship is holding a raffle with the drawings to be held on Community Day, which is September 20. There will be 3 drawings: a $100 Butcher’s Block gift card, a high-quality backpack cooler, and a Blackstone grill. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. See any member of the Churchman’s Fellowship to get your tickets.

Rev. Smith has advised us that some people are receiving an email purporting to be from him. If you receive a suspicious message requesting money or gift cards from him or anyone else, please take the following steps:

DO NOT click within the email.

DO NOT reply to the email.

DO NOT follow the instructions given in the email.

WRITE DOWN the sender’s email address, including its irregularities, the date, and time sent.

DELETE the email immediately.

Using the contact information you have on file, message or call the person from whom the email is supposedly from that you have received it.

If you have already fallen victim to the scam, immediately report it to the Federal Trade Commission at: https://reportfraud.ftc.gov

This can happen to anyone. There isn't much you can do to prevent these scams. Impersonation attackers pose as a trusted supervisor, colleague, or friend. These automated systems create versions of a legitimate email address, but they will have subtle differences from the person’s real email address. They will insist that all communication be via email, and they are in a hurry. Because of their worldwide usage, this often happens with Gmail and Yahoo accounts. If you use one of these platforms, please be especially diligent.

Hello, Mt. Tabor UCC family and friends! Summer hasn't officially arrived, but it is making its presence known. Please stay cool and hydrated! Check on your neighbors, family, and friends during these very hot days.

Come find respite for the body and soul with us on Sunday. We'll begin with HeBrews coffee and social time at 9 am, followed by Spiritual Formation for adults and Sunday School for youth and children at 9:30 am. Worship begins at 10:30 am. Rev. Smith's message this week is entitled, "Freedom: Our Redemption Songs." Join us in the sanctuary or via live streaming on Facebook and YouTube. Looking for a previous service? Note that all past worship services are available on YouTube. Facebook now archives only the most recent 4 weeks.

Next Sunday is Father's Day, and our Men's Fellowship Group will facilitate the morning worship service.
