🇺🇸 Flag Day. Here’s an interesting reflection , especially for Catholics.

Excerpt : “Favorite church hymns express the right kind of patriotism, “Faith of Our Fathers” was written to celebrate the British martyrs who died at the hand of their own government, but it is as stirringly patriotic as St. Thomas More, who was “The King’s good servant, but God’s first.”
“God of Our Fathers” is an American hymn with an oblique reference to the flag (“the starry band”) that the U.S. bishops have used during the fortnight for Freedom.
Last, the hymn “Immaculate Mary” prays “Bless, dearest Lady, the land of our birth.”
Think of that prayer when you see an American flag. Both mean the same thing.”

Did you know our Parish has a Thrift Store - (“Almost Immaculate Thrift Shop”) ? Every purchase supports our Food Pantry (“St. Vincent de Paul of IHM”) & the Ministry. It’s staffed by Volunteers. Here’s a few photos of what you may find at the thrift shop. Hours are Fridays & Saturdays 10am-2pm. Donations are accepted during thrift shop hours. Sain Vincent de Paul, pray for us!

The Knight’s of Columbus at IHM Council KofC Council 9968 will be staring a new program called “COR” - (Latin : for Heart). The first meeting will be on June 11th 7-8:40pm in the Parish Hall.
