Some seasons of life feel like standing at a crossroads with fog rolling in from every direction. You can see one step, maybe two, but the rest of the path is hidden. In those moments, our instinct is to strain our eyes, to figure out the whole route, to demand clarity before we move. But God rarely works that way.
Scripture shows us a God who leads His people step by step. Abraham was told to go before he was told where. Moses was told to lift his staff before the sea ever parted. Peter was told to step out before the water felt solid beneath his feet. God’s pattern is consistent: obedience first, clarity second.
Why does He lead us this way? Because trust grows best in the unknown. When you can’t see the whole road, you learn to hold His hand. When you can’t predict the outcome, you learn to rest in His character. When you can’t control the next chapter, you learn to depend on the One who writes the story.
Maybe today you’re facing a decision, a transition, or a burden that feels too heavy to navigate alone. You don’t need the whole map. You just need the next faithful step. God promises that as you acknowledge Him—invite Him into the decision, surrender your timeline, and quiet your anxious thoughts—He will make your path straight. Not always easy. Not always fast. But straight, steady, and guided by His love.
The road ahead may be foggy, but the One walking with you is not. Trust His heart. Trust His timing. Trust His leading. He is already in the place you’re trying to reach.
