Reach is a community of followers of Jesus that isn’t here in Leland just to plant another church. We are committed to taking Jesus outside the walls of a building to His people. Building community takes time and Reach is here for the long haul.

There is a big difference between getting caught and getting convicted. Getting caught makes us regret the consequences—what it cost us, how it made us look, or what we lost because of it. But conviction goes deeper. It makes us see the sin itself differently and creates a desire to turn from it. So the question is not simply, “Do I feel bad?” The better question is, “Is my sorrow actually changing the direction of my life?” ~ Pastor Heath

📢 Reach Community Groups: In person sign-ups are over, but you can still go to the church website and see a full list of our community groups. You can find us reachcommunitychurch.com , then navigate to community groups. There you will find a link to all the groups. Each group has a description and a link to sign up if it is still open (some of the groups have already filled up).

📢 Reach Family Beach Day: Last Sunday we had a great time at our Reach Family Beach Day. Over 100 people came out and we had 14 people get baptized. We had a great time celebrating and fellowshipping. If you haven’t joined us for one of our family days yet - be sure to catch the next one.

📢 Psalm 100: If your kids would like to join Reach Community Church Kids Music group, rehearsals will resume directly after the first service in the room across from the sanctuary this Sunday. Kids ages 5
and up are welcome to join. Please see Wayne Celio if you have any questions, and if you haven’t signed up you are still free to join - just show up!

📢 Church-wide Prayer: Due to the Labor Day weekend we will postpone church wide prayer to next Monday, September 14th. As always, we will meet here from 7-8 to pray for the needs in our church,
community and government. Please come out and join us.

📢 Sunday Social Fellowship: (first service only) Today between services be sure to grab a drink from the coﬀee table and a homemade snack in the back and enjoy some fellowship with others in the church.

There are a lot of things in life you simply cannot control. You cannot control every circumstance, every outcome, what people think about you, or how they respond to what you say. You can do everything right and still have things turn out differently than you hoped. But one thing you can pay attention to is what your life carries into every place God puts you. When people encounter you, what do they get a sense of? What does your life leave behind? ~ Pastor Heath

🗓️ Baptisms: We have beach baptisms tonight at OKI along with our Reach Family Beach Day. It’s not too late to sign up. The sign up sheet is on the welcome table in the hall.

🗓️ Reach Family Beach Day: This evening from 5-7pm we will meet at the Oak Island Cabana Beach Access located at 46th St. There is a large parking lot with restrooms available. Bring your dinner and hang out with your church family. Baptisms will take place as well, so be sure to sign up if you are interested. Parking is free after 5.

📢 Reach Community Groups: Sign ups continue today for our Fall Community Groups, but today is also the last day to sign up. We have Groups for Men, Women, Young Adults, Kids, Couples, and Mixed Groups. Sign up today!

🗓️ Lydia Group: Women”s Lydia group will be meeting this upcoming Saturday, September 5th, 9am to 10:30 right here at the senior center. Every woman from Reach is welcome to come..whether you have ever been before or not... Come join as we learn together, grow together and make lasting friendships as we develop deeper roots, as we bloom together!

A lot of us think faithfulness will get easier when our circumstances change. When the job changes. When the marriage gets easier. When the pressure lifts. When we finally get where we want to be. But what if God is asking us to stop waiting on different circumstances and start being faithful with what He has already put in our hands? ~ Pastor Heath

🗓️ Baptisms: If you or someone in your family is interested in being baptized we have 2 dates coming up. We will have our Sunday morning baptism here on August 16th, and we will have beach baptisms
on Sunday, August 30th along with our family beach day at Oak Island. If you are interested, please sign-up at the table in the hallway and someone will reach out to you.

There are some things you can figure out on your own. You can learn by watching, listening, studying, and gaining experience. But when it comes to the deepest things of God, human wisdom can only take you so far. There are truths about God, salvation, and the cross that we would never discover unless God chose to reveal them to us. That is exactly where Paul takes us in today’s text. The wisdom of God was hidden from the world, but through the Holy Spirit, it has now been revealed. ~ Pastor Heath

Our ReachYOUth students are heading to CampEXP today! 🙏

If you picked up a Camp Prayer Challenge wristband on Sunday, this is your reminder to wear it throughout the week and pray for the student or leader whose name is on your band.

Every time you notice your wristband, take a moment to lift that person up in prayer. Pray that they would grow closer to Christ, build lasting friendships, and experience all that God has planned for them during their week at camp.

Didn't grab a wristband? That's okay! We'd still love for you to join us in praying for our students and leaders this week as they travel, worship, learn, and grow together.

Our group will return from camp on Saturday afternoon, so let's continue covering them in prayer throughout the week as God works in their hearts and lives.

Thank you for partnering with us in prayer. We can't wait to hear how God moves at CampEXP!

A measuring line does not change the object being measured—it simply reveals the truth about it. It shows where something lines up, where it falls short, and where adjustment is needed. In the same way, God’s Word does not flatter us or condemn us without hope. It shows us what is really happening beneath the surface. The question is not whether we can look changed. The question is whether we are actually becoming more like Jesus. ~ Pastor Heath

📢 Camp Prayer Challenge- Today there is a table in the hallway manned by some of the youth going to Camp! This table has wristbands with the names of the youth and leaders going to camp. The challenge is for you to pick up one of these wristbands and wear it all week while we are at camp. Every time you look down at your wrist and see the band and the name, you send up a quick prayer for that person! Be on the lookout for this fun way to join in the fun of camp!

🗓️ Pizza with the Pastor: If you are new to Reach we would love for you to join us after the second service, today, for an informal luncheon with Pastor Heath as he answers any questions you might have about who we are and what we believe. Even if you haven’t signed up you are welcome to come and childcare is provided.

🗓️ Church Prayer Night: The first Monday of every month we gather here at the Center for a time of prayer. Please join us tomorrow from 7-8pm in this room as we come together to pray for our leadership, our community, our government and any prayer cards or requests we receive today. Most of us are more comfortable with rules than relationships. Rules feel manageable. Tell me what to do, what not to do, and how well I need to perform. Then I can measure myself, compare myself, and stay in control. But Jesus did not come simply to give us a better list of rules. He came to give us a new life and teach us a new way through our live with the holy spirit. ~ Pastor Heath

🗓️ ReachYOUth- Parent Night for CampEXP- On July 27th at 6:30 PM, tomorrow night, here at the senior center, we will hold a parent night for the parents of our youth who are attending CampEXP.
During this brief meeting, we will discuss important details about the camp. If your child is registered to attend this year, you will not want to miss this informational meeting. See Mackeznie for more info.
