“Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.”
PSALM 42:5 (NIV)
What is hope?
Hope is waiting eagerly for something we know is going to happen. It’s not what we see but what we anticipate seeing.
The second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Our hope comes from God. He is greater than anything in this world. Put your trust and hope in Him. In order to trust God, we must believe that He exists and that He is completely trustworthy. God created the world and He created us. God loves us and we must start by accepting His love. Allowing Him to do His Will in our life is the highest form of worship.
“For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭24‬-‭25‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
When we yearn for hope, we yearn for life, prosperity, peace, love, and stability. God can provide all this and so much more.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
Don’t hope in mankind. Place our hope in God and our Lord Jesus Christ who died for us on the cross.
Where there is hope, there is peace. Stay faithful and true to God always trusting in His Word.
In the name of the One who gives us hope, Amen.
