St James Lutheran Church, Leesville, SC St. James Evangelical Lutheran Church continues to provide a vital ministry of Word and Sacrament in Summit/Gilbert, SC

A number of Lutherans residing in and around Summit Point met together on April 17, 1873, for the purpose of organizing a Lutheran congregation. From that day in April until this day, the Saint James Congregation has made a steady growth in membership, physical plant and ministry. Over the years, the congregation has been blessed with strong lay and clergy leadership.
