Each Wednesday, we are grateful to offer a meal to our community. For $2 per person, and $5 per family, you can enjoy a delicious meal, often prepared with local ingredients. Join us each week at 5:30 pm.

You are invited to stay and attend one of our Wed. ministry classes (6-7pm) — for all ages from preschool through senior adults.

Soul Cafe Kids (PreK-3rd) meet in the Children’s building with Ms. Melissa and Mr. Andrew!

Preteens (4th-6th) meet in the Youth Building or outside!

Youth (7th-12th) meet in the Youth Building or outside!

Adults are invited to join Doug Tipps for Bible study around the tables in the sanctuary. This time of study is casual, informal and interactive. Grab a Bible, use one available at the church, or download an app on your phone.

Finding more of God, growing strong in soul and spirit, requires creating space in your daily life for God--to intentionally put yourself in a place that allows you to draw upon and experience the healing power of the life of God filling you. Over the ages, serious followers of Jesus have used stillness and quiet, worship, fasting, prayer, beautiful places, and a number of other "exercises" to drink deeply of the presence of God. And untangle their souls from the world.

If you create a little bit of sacred space every day, God will meet you there. And you will begin to love it.

Seasons of New Beginnings

The heavens proclaim the glory of God. The skies display his craftsmanship. . . . The sun rises at one end of the heavens and follows its course to the other end.
Psalm 19:1, 6 NLT

Every new beginning holds both promise and uncertainty. Psalm 19 reminds us to lift our eyes. The skies above declare that God is still at work. Day after day, without words, creation speaks-proclaiming beauty, order, and faithful rhythm.

Just as the sun rises without fail, God's presence and power remain constant. In creation's quiet witness, we are invited to trust the One who made it all-and who makes all things new. We are drawn near to the One whose life offers eternal hope and makes us new by faith. The God who set the stars in place is the same God guiding your next steps.

As you walk into what's next, let the heavens remind you: your story is held by a Creator who speaks through every sunrise. You're not starting alone-God is already there, declaring his glory and writing something new. The creation psalms remind us that God brings light out of darkness, makes life from dust, and walks with us in every new beginning.

Quiet Space Needed

You're my place of quiet retreat; I wait for Your Word to renew me.
PSALM 119:114 THE MESSAGE

Even before the worldwide pandemic I was a social distance proponent. I've always chosen the beach that I know is least populated, and if it does get crowded, I walk until I find an isolated spot. I know I'm not the only one who defines personal space as "enough area around me to avoid small talk or touching of any kind." We introverts just need more alone time than most and have a little more difficulty when we meet a hugger.

Even if we're not introverts, all of us need the place of quiet retreat that is our heavenly Father. We can read and remember every truth written, which is invaluable for our spiritual strength and well-being, but God renews us on a very personal level in the quiet times. It's a hard thing to explain but it's a certainty, nonetheless.

A hurricane wind ripped through the mountains and shattered the rocks before God, but God wasn’t to be found in the wind; after the wind an earthquake, but God wasn’t in the earthquake; and after the earthquake fire, but God wasn’t in the fire; and after the fire a gentle and quiet whisper. 1 Kings 19:11-12 THE MESSAGE

God hasn't changed since Elijah heard that whisper. He wants us to get to a place away from the noise of the world so we can listen. Our part is to make the space in our lives to do it. When we're struggling the most, time to listen becomes most important. Our "place of quiet retreat" is also the One who takes hold of our right hand and says, "Do not fear; I will help you." Maybe today is a good day to make our getaway plan.

Prayer
Father, give me a heart that listens more closely, a soul that hears more clearly, and a spirit that follows you more faithfully every day. When I'm renewed by Your Word, there's a new courage in me to serve and be a light.

Encounter God’s Heart…

Extravagant Kindness

There is little else in this world that can rightly compare to the extravagant kindness of God. He is infinitely patient. He does not grow weary of giving us the space and opportunity to accept his mercy. He draws us with loving-kindness, not with threats.

His kindness melts our defenses when we realize how indescribably good, merciful, and powerful he is! His love leads him to extend mercy at every opportunity. When was the last time you considered the incomparable love of Christ that reaches out to you at every moment? Remember his kindness today, for he is full of compassion toward you.

Lord God, thank you for your love that leads me to repentance. I don’t want to take it for granted or let the troubles of this world taint my view of you. I draw near, and I ask for your hand of mercy to give me deeper revelations of your kindness.
