What a wonderful Sunday of worship and fellowship at Martin Luther Lutheran Church!

Rev. Ken Weiss presided over today’s service, and we were blessed to welcome special guest Matt Kindsvatter, Executive Director of Lutherhill Ministries. Matt joined us for Sunday School and led our Children’s Sermon, Blessing of the Backpacks, and today’s sermon. 🎒✝️ We are grateful for his message and for the ministry of Lutherhill!

MLLC’s Annual Harvest Festival is scheduled for Sunday, October 18. This year, the festival will be held at the church, with the meal served in the Fellowship Hall.

⛪ 11th Sunday after Pentecost at Martin Luther Lutheran Church ⛪

What a blessed Sunday of worship and fellowship at Martin Luther Lutheran Church! We were grateful to welcome Rev. Ken Weiss as our guest pastor as we gathered together around God’s Word and Holy Communion.

🎶 Gathering Song: “My Faith Looks Up to Thee”

📖 Today’s Scripture Readings:
• First Reading — 1 Kings 19:9–18
• Psalm — Psalm 85:8–13
• Second Reading — Romans 10:5–15
• Gospel — St. Matthew 14:22–23

Our worship also included the Greeting and Prayer of the Day, Noisy Offering with “Jesus Loves Me,” and our Hymn of the Day, “Eternal Father, Strong to Save.” Together we confessed our faith with the Apostles’ Creed, lifted up our Prayers of Intercession, shared the Peace, presented our Offering, and gathered at the Lord’s Table for Holy Communion.

🌿 A Very Special First Communion Sunday 🌿

Today we joyfully celebrated four young people receiving their First Holy Communion:

✝️ Gracie Eckert, daughter of Lindsey and Josh Eckert
✝️ Ava Kelley, daughter of Christy Kelley and the late Matthew Kelley
✝️ Luke Kelley, son of Christy Kelley and the late Matthew Kelley
✝️ Andrew Sanders, son of Stephanie and Tim Sanders

May God bless Gracie, Ava, Luke, and Andrew as they continue to grow in faith and experience Christ’s love and grace through the sacrament of Holy Communion. ❤️

Following Communion, we concluded our worship with the Prayer after Communion, Blessing, Dismissal, the sending song “Lord, Take My Hand and Lead Me,” and the sung Doxology.

🙏💚 What a blessing it is to see our church filled with the laughter, curiosity, and faith of our children! Today we give thanks to God for each precious child He has entrusted to our congregation.

A heartfelt thank you to Rev. Ken Weiss for sharing such a meaningful and engaging Children’s Sermon, reminding our youngest disciples that they are deeply loved by God and have an important place in His kingdom. May we continue to nurture their faith as they grow in God’s love and grace.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory both now and forever! Amen.” — 2 Peter 3:18 ✝️

What a wonderful morning of worship as we gathered together, led by Rev. Bonnie Parker, on this Independence Day weekend to give thanks for the freedom we have in Christ and for the many blessings God has poured into our lives.
