The resurrection of Jesus Christ stands at the very center of the Christian faith. Everything we believe, everything we hope for, and everything we do as followers of Christ rests on this one reality: Christ died for our sins and was raised from the dead.
In 1 Corinthians 15, the apostle Paul reminds the church of the gospel they first received and urges them to stand firmly in it. Some in Corinth had begun to question the resurrection of the dead, and Paul responds with one of the most powerful chapters in all of Scripture—showing that if Christ has not been raised, our faith is empty. But because Christ has been raised, everything changes.

This Sunday, April 12, 2026, Pastor Doug will begin a new sermon series entitled "Resurrection! Hope & Victory". In this series, we will explore how the resurrection shapes every part of the Christian life. We will see that Christ’s victory over death is not only a past event to remember but a present power to live by and a future promise to hold onto.
Week by week we will discover that because Christ is risen:
Forgiveness is real and grace is not in vain.
Hope is alive, even in the face of death.
New life begins now, not just someday in heaven.
Our future is secure, with resurrection bodies prepared by God.
Death itself is defeated, losing its final sting.
Our work for Christ matters, because nothing done in Him is ever wasted.

The resurrection is not simply the end of the gospel story—it is the beginning of a new way of living. Through Christ’s victory, God is renewing creation, restoring His people, and calling us to live as resurrection people in a world still longing for life.

I was sent this by a clergy friend and neighbor -- Karen Pellet. I found it interesting and wanted to share it with you

d you know that some call today Spy, Deceiver, or Betrayer Day? I didn't until this morning. When reading the daily lections, I can see where that comes from. On one hand, Isaiah 50 and Psalm 70 give a strong support for those who are or have been betrayed, deceived, or spied upon by reminding of God's support and strength during those moments in one's life.

In John 12 while at table with the disciples, Jesus publicly, yet very privately, acknowledges the soon to be betrayal 3 times
