Relics of three of the most prominent figures in the Catholic Church will soon have a permanent home at Church of the Nativity, Leawood. 🙏

“Our parish has been entrusted with the relics of three remarkable witnesses to Christ: St. John Paul II, St. Teresa of Calcutta and Blessed Michael McGivney,” said Father Jerry Volz, pastor of Nativity.

“This gift is especially meaningful because these three holy people lived in our own time,” he continued, “and each witnessed Christ in a different way — through courageous leadership, loving service, priesthood, family and parish life.”

The relics of St. John Paul II, St. Teresa of Kolkata and Blessed Father Michael J. McGivney will soon have a permanent home at Church of the Nativity, Leawood. 🙏

On Aug. 13, the feast of Blessed McGivney, Archbishop Shawn McKnight celebrated morning Mass with the relics on display in a reliquary. Catch the full story in this weekend's issue. 🗞️

The relics of St. John Paul II, St. Teresa of Kolkata and Blessed Father Michael McGivney were on display in a reliquary during a Mass celebrated by Archbishop McKnight on Aug. 13!

The will eventually be available for public veneration.

Nativity teens attending Steubenville in Springfield, MO encountered Christ through inspiring talks, music, the Sacraments, Eucharistic Adoration, and an amazing community of young Catholics. We're so grateful for this time together and are excited to see how God continues to work in their hearts.
