32 Sand Springers just spent 3 VERY eventful days traveling to Shipshewana, In. The Amish cooks are known for good food and Taste of Shipshewana did not disappoint! After filling our plates from passing at least 6 bowls of different dishes, they passed them again.. then out came the homemade pies!

On Tuesday we watched the hand building of Amish buggies at Fry's Buggy Shop and toured Harry Stutzman's family dairy farm, complete with samples of some of the best flavored milks we've ever tasted. For lunch we rolled our own pretzels at Ben's (most of which actually looked like pretzels).

After lunch we each made our own wooden baskets at Teaberry's Woodworks and visited Silver Star leather shop where the family makes belts and all kinds of leather products from several types of skins.

Dinner was another Amish home cooked meal at Loretta Miller's home and more homemade desserts. We wrapped up our day at a performance of the play "Love Comes Softly".

Yes.. we did all that in one day!

After a little more shopping at E&S bulk food store and Yoder's Meat and Cheese Wed morning, a tired but happy bunch of travelers headed home.

Much thanks to Henry Carr for skillfully driving us and to SSBC as a whole for supporting our trip.

Not sure what or when our next big adventure will be, but stay tuned. We don't want you to miss it!
