Please lift up the family of our friends, The Nelons, in prayer as they endure this horrific tragedy. The Nelons were scheduled to be with us at Sand Spring Baptist Church on September 19, 2024.

A STATEMENT FROM GAITHER MANAGEMENT GROUP:

One of the best loved Gospel music families in America, The Nelons were involved in a tragic, fatal plane crash on Friday afternoon on their way to join the Gaither Homecoming Cruise to Alaska. Killed in the crash were Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, Amber and Nathan Kistler and their assistant, Melodi Hodges, along with the pilot, Larry Haynie and his wife, Melissa. The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating the accident.

Autumn, Jason and Kelly’s youngest daughter, and her husband, Jamie Streetman were not on the plane and arrived safely into Seattle and were notified of the accident. They were brought to the hotel where artists were gathered with Bill and Gloria Gaither to pray, sing and embrace them in their grief, pledging to support them in whatever needs arise.

Autumn and Jamie will return home for now to Kelly’s brother, Todd Nelon and his wife, Rhonda, to begin the hard tasks that lie ahead. Please keep them, the Kistler family, the Haynie family and the family of Melodi Hodges in your prayers.

As many of you have heard by now, my father and mother, Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark, along with my sister, Amber and brother-in-law, Nathan, as well as our dear friends Melodi Hodges, Larry and Melissa Haynie were involved in a tragic plane crash on Friday. Thank you for the prayers that have been extended already to me, my husband, Jamie, and our soon-to-be-born baby boy, as well as Jason’s parents, Dan and Linda Clark. We appreciate your continued prayers, love and support as we navigate the coming days.

The 2023 Sand Spring Gospel Concerts Series schedule has been finalized and is now ready to share. Be sure to mark your calendars for the upcoming concerts from February through November. We are looking forward to having another great year of worship and fellowship with our many friends who come to visit.

Be sure to join Gold City and The Jay Stone Singers Thursday, November 10th, at Sand Spring Baptist Church, 1616 Harrodsburg Road, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Music begins at 7:00 PM, and donations are appreciated to support the travels of our quests.

Breaking news! A new addition has been made to the Sand Spring Baptist Church Gospel Concert Series. Mark your calendars to see The Hoppers on Friday, September 9th at 7:00 PM. We were contacted recently by The Hoppers who had an opening come available on their schedule. This will be an additional concert to the lineup previously mailed out. More information will be shared as the date gets closer.

The Sand Spring Gospel Concert series is getting off to a fantastic start with our first concert on Thursday, February 24th featuring Dollywood’s own Kingdom Heirs! Join us at 7:00 PM. Sand Spring is located at 1616 Harrodsburg Road, Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. All concerts are free, but depend on your generous donations to continue. For more information contact the church office at 502-839-3415. Go ahead and mark your calendar too with the dates of all the other great concerts scheduled for the year.
