Sunday Service Recap: Pastor Veronica Edwards brought the word today. Before she began the actual message, she had a word of encouragement for us. Her word of encouragement was about the storms that we all go through and how we should not be reacting out of our emotion. Also, that we have to face the truth about ourselves. The Lord says we supposed to worship him and spirit and in truth. Our worship should not come out of our emotions but coming into agreement with God’s word and will.
Also, we need to remember that pastors are people too. Yes, they’ve been called by God to Shepherd his flock however, they also experience storms at times. We must remember to uplift our pastors and keep them covered as well.
The message today from Romans 16: 16 -27. The apostle Paul speaking to the church at Rome to the Jews and the Gentiles about unity. First he gives us a warning about false teachers and for us not to be deceived. There are people that have come into the church that are not serving Jesus Christ. They are serving themselves. You are to be aware so that you are not deceived by these people and turn away from Jesus Christ. She also spoke about unity. Our unity is not supposed to be because we all do the same things, our unity is to be in Jesus Christ. He is the head of the church. We are to be unified in Christ, not Jew not Gentile not black not white not red not yellow because in God‘s eyes were all the same.
We all know that a house divided cannot stand. Our house was built on the rock of Jesus Christ. For us to stand, we need to be unified in Jesus Christ, nothing else.
Pastor also acknowledged each and every person in the congregation for their contributions to the ministry, their contributions to spreading the Word of God, their efforts and what they do for Christ. Paul took time to acknowledge each and every person that worked in the ministry with him. Paul was letting people know that he sees them and that’s what Pastor was doing. She sees us. All praises and glory be to God for His Word, his love and for the shepherds that he places over his flocks. Have a blessed day.
