Last night, liturgical ministers and parishioners of the Guardian Angel Cathedral joined Archbishop George Leo Thomas, Ph.D., Archbishop of Las Vegas, and Auxiliary Bishop Gregory W. Gordon, Rector of Guardian Angel Cathedral, for the premiere screening of American Martyr: The Stanley Rother Story.

The evening offered an opportunity to learn more about the life, ministry, and witness of Blessed Stanley Rother, the first U.S.-born priest to be recognized as a martyr by the Catholic Church.

This Saturday is the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary. In 2026, it is not a Holy Day of Obligation, but we will have Masses at 9a and 11a for the feast.

Our new Homeless Jesus sculpture has already become a place of reflection, prayer, and conversation.

Created by renowned sculptor Timothy P. Schmalz, the bronze statue invites us to see Christ in those who are most often overlooked, echoing the words of Jesus in Matthew 25: “Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”

We are grateful to KSNV News 3, Las Vegas for sharing the story behind this meaningful addition to our Cathedral campus and the important conversations it inspires about faith, compassion, and the dignity of every human person.

Our Summer Seminarian Josue Del Toro spoke to FOX5 Las Vegas about his vocation journey and the surge in vocations for the Archdiocese. Join us after the 11 AM Mass this Sunday as we send Josue off to the seminary as he concludes his summer assignment with us.

Happy Independence Day from the Guardian Angel Cathedral. This morning, Archbishop George Leo Thomas, Ph.D., Archbishop of Las Vegas celebrated a special Independence Mass at the Cathedral.

Choristers from across the Archdiocese of Las Vegas offered a Choral Prelude as well as music for the Mass.

We’re thankful to the small legion of volunteers that serve the Cathedral community everyday, especially on holidays. Without your devotion, we would not be able to function.
