— Here’s something I’ve learned through the years as a pastor's kid...

Most people in the congregation never fully realize what it means to their pastor when they simply show up.

Just showing up may feel ordinary to you. It may feel small. Routine. Nothing special. But to your pastor, it often means far more than you know!

Most sermons don’t come together in 30 minutes on a Saturday night. A well-prepared sermon often represents 15 to 25 hours of work, & sometimes much more! That includes praying, studying Scripture, digging into context, reading, wrestling with the text, outlining, editing, cutting, rewriting, & praying over it again. And the final touches right before service starts.

And that’s just the sermon. What you don’t always see are the private burdens a pastor carries through the week.

The hospital visits. The counseling sessions. The difficult phone calls. The family crises. The funerals. The sleepless nights. The spiritual weight of carrying people in prayer.

Many pastors walk into the pulpit carrying far more than a Bible & notes.

They carry people. Names. Faces. Needs. Broken hearts. Prodigals. Marriages hanging by a thread. Families in crisis.

So when Sunday & Wednesday comes & you walk through those doors, something powerful happens.

Your presence says: “Pastor, your labor matters.”...“Your prayers were not wasted.”...“Your study mattered.”...“Keep preaching.”...“Keep feeding us.”

Attendance is never just a number: Every seat filled is encouragement...Every faithful saint is strength...Every person present reminds a pastor that the labor is not in vain.

I think many pastors would tell you this: One of the greatest encouragements you can give your pastor requires no money, no grand speech, & no special gift.

Just be there. Be faithful. Be present. Be in the room.

Because sometimes the simple act of showing up gives a weary shepherd enough strength to keep going another week. And that matters more than you know!! 💛

— The world tells young men to look to athletes, actors, influencers, & celebrities—God points them to different heroes!
A man who stood alone in Babylon...A prisoner who remained faithful in Egypt...A fisherman transformed by grace...A missionary who gave everything for Christ...A disciple who stayed faithful to the end.

Daniel. Joseph. Peter. Paul. John. These weren't perfect men, they were surrendered men!

If we want the next generation to stand strong in a culture that constantly pulls them away from truth, we need to introduce them to biblical role models who lived for something bigger than themselves.

Character over popularity...Conviction over comfort...Faithfulness over fame.

The men of Scripture still have something to teach us! 💛

LET'S SHOW PASTOR SCOTT SOME LOVE! 💛 Send a text. Write a note. Bless him. Give a gift. Tell him “thank you.” Whatever the Lord leads you to do! Let him know his faithfulness & leadership matter!

— TODAY'S VERSE: Life can get so loud and overwhelming, & it's easy to get caught up chasing things that promise happiness but leave us feeling empty.

Psalm 16:11 gives us a powerful reminder of where real fulfillment comes from: "In Your presence is fullness of joy." 🙌

True, deep, lasting joy isn't found in perfect circumstances, a bank account, or a status update. It’s found in a relationship with God. When we take a moment to step away from the noise & connect with Him, He gives us a peace and joy that the world simply can't match!

If you are feeling drained today, take a deep breath & spend just a few minutes in prayer or quiet reflection. Real joy is waiting for you in His presence! 🧡 🍂

— Amen — Sometimes we spend so much time thinking about what we still need that we forget to thank God for everything He has already done.

Today, choose gratitude. Look around & remember how many times His faithfulness has carried you! 🧡 🍂
