Please join us in praying for Deputy Jon Samuelson and the LCSO community.
Heavenly Father,
We come before You today with heavy hearts, lifting up Deputy Jon Samuelson, a man who, in the simple act of helping a stranger on the side of the road, found himself in harm's way. Lord, You see him now in the hospital in South Bend. Meet him there. Sustain him. Let Your healing hand rest upon his body, and grant his doctors and nurses wisdom and skill beyond their own.
Comfort his family, those who carry a legacy of service to this community across generations. Surround them with Your peace that passes understanding, and let them feel the prayers of their neighbors rising on their behalf today.
We also pray for all the men and women of the La Porte County Sheriff's Office and for law enforcement officers everywhere who put on a badge, unaware of what the day will bring. Grant them courage, protection, and the assurance that they are not forgotten.
Father, in moments like this, it is easy to feel anger and fear. Help us to grieve honestly while holding fast to the hope we have in You, that You are present, that You are just, and that You are working even in the darkest circumstances.
