Hope-full living for October 29, 2026: John 11:23-27 and
2 Corinthinas 4:14
Behold, the eye of the Lord in on those who fear Him, on those who hope in His steadfast love, that He may deliver their soul from death and keep them alive in famine. Psalm 33:18-19
"Christians face death differently. We know that ultimately, Jesus will deliver us from death, and we will live again with Him in eternity. Jesus' unfailing love allows us to live each day confidently and courageously. Our bodies may decline, but our faith remains strong.
Dear Jesus, thank You for giving us eternal hope. Now help me to live hopefully this day. Amen."

By the Holy spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you. 2 Timothy 1:14
"The apostle Paul tells the younger pastor Timothy to guard carefully, in the power of the Holy Spirit, the deposit of truth that
the apostle entrusted to him, but he is not to keep that truth to himself. Paul instructs him to give sound teachings to others, entrusting the good news of Jesus to faithful men who would the, in turn, teach others what they had learned. The good news of salvation through faith in Jesus is closely guarded so it can be given away.
Lord and Savior, bless our pastors, who guard the sound words of Christian teaching and proclaim the good news of Jesus. Amen."

"Suffering and evil will come to us, but Jesus tells us to take heart! Nothing the world can do to us---no evil that we experience, no fretting and anxiety---can conquer us, because Jesus by His death and resurrection has overcome it all.
Jesus, when I am anxious about the troubles of this world, fill me with Your peace. Amen."

Portals for October 25, 2026: Mark 4:35-41 and Psalm 107:23-31
But He was in the stern, asleep on the cushion. And they woke Him and said to Him, "Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?' Mark 4:38
"We encounter storms in our life too, only some of which are related to weather. Like the disciples, we cry out in frantic prayer to the Lord, 'We're dying here! Do You care?' Jesus cares. He is, and always has been, right beside us, ready to bring a great calm to our anxious hearts. He gave His life to save us and bring us eternal peace.
God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, I remember Your mighty works. I know that You care for me. Amen."

The Lord is slow to anger and great in power, and the Lord will by no means clear the guilty. His way is in whirlwind and storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet. Nahum 1:3
"On the cross, Jesus endured the avenging wrath of God against sin. Jesus suffered the penalty of death that we justly deserved for our sin. He took our sin and guilt onto Himself and, in exchange, clothed us in His righteousness. Thanks be to God! For Jesus' sake, God declares us innocent!
Lord, forgive my sins for Jesus' sake. In His name I pray. Amen.

"Whenever we call on God, in joy or in anguish, we are offering to Him the sacrifice of praise. Even our most sorrowful and desperate prayers are the fruit of faith, a sacrifice of praise offered up in the name of our Lord Jesus, who sacrificed Himself for the sake of our salvation.
Lord God, in days of trouble, help me to grow stronger in faith and to offer to You my daily sacrifice of praise. In Jesus' name. Amen.

What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me---practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you. Philippians 4:9
"When it comes to our life in Christ, we need a lot of practice as we seek to imitate the love that led Jesus to the cross to atone for the sins of the world. In Baptism, the Holy Spirit created faith in our hearts, clothing us in Jesus' perfect righteousness. Now we engage in the daily practice of following our Savior. Our goal as we imitate the loving words and actions of brothers and sisters in Christ is to practice love.
Spirit of God, guide me in the daily practice of following my Savior. In His name. Amen."

Besides this you know the time, that the hour has come for you to wake from sleep. For salvation is nearer to us now than when we first believed. Romans 13:11
"Wars, famines, and earthquakes as well as persecution of Christians and false prophets rising up and attempting to lead people astray are all signs that foretell the promised return of Jesus. When we see these things happening in our world, we know it will soon be morning, the dawn of the Last Day. It is time for us to wake up and live in Jesus' light as we watch for His return.
Jesus, help me to be faithful as I await Your return. Amen."

But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. 2 Corinthians 4:7
"We are sinful people, and we often display in our lives cracks of pride and selfishness. Even within our easily shattered lives, we carry the treasure of the Good News, and the light of Jesus burns brightly. We are jars of clay, but in the Holy Spirit's power, even cracked jars are useful. The light of Jesus' love shines through us.
