“For You formed my inward parts;
You wove me in my mother’s womb.

The world conforms you. God transforms you. And those are two very different things. 🦋
Conform means to be put in a mold — to comply, to fall in line, to think and act the way the culture tells you to. The world is constantly doing this to you whether you realize it or not.
But the Greek word Paul uses for transformed is metamorpho — the same word used when Jesus was transfigured on the mountain. His face shone like the sun. His garments became white as light.
That's what God wants to do in you. Not just tweak your behavior. Not just clean you up a little. A complete transformation from the inside out.
Romans 12:2 — "Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."

Be honest — are you being conformed or transformed? 👇
There's a difference. Conforming happens passively. You don't even notice it. The culture, the media, the opinions of people around you — they slowly shape the way you think without you realizing it.
Transformation is different. It's intentional. It's the daily renewing of your mind through God's word, through prayer, through fellowship with other believers.
The world molds you. God transforms you. Which one is winning in your life right now?

Dying for the Lord is a one time decision. Living for Him is a daily one. 🙏
That's what Paul means in Romans 12:1 when he calls us to be a living sacrifice. Not a dead one. Not a one-and-done. A living, breathing, daily offering to God.
The hard part? A living sacrifice can climb off the altar. And if we're honest — we do it all the time.
The call of the Christian life isn't just to make a decision. It's to come back to that place of surrender. Every. Single. Day.

Something to ponder from the sermon yesterday as we go about our week!

Are you changing with the culture — or are you changing the culture? 🌡️
A thermometer just reads the room. It conforms to whatever temperature surrounds it. But a thermostat? It sets the climate. It determines the environment around it.
Romans 12:2 calls us to something higher than just blending in. Don't be conformed to this world — be transformed by the renewing of your mind.
That transformation starts in your thought life. In your home. In how you respond to the people around you.
You were not made to just go along with the culture. You were made to set the climate. 🙌

You can look alive for a while on your own. But real, lasting fruit? That only comes from staying connected to the vine. 🌿
It’s not about trying harder. It’s about staying rooted in Jesus - abiding in His Grace, His word, His presence.

We are partnering with Cascade Women’s Health for their Baby Bottle Drive! You can pick up your bottle on Wednesday nights or Sunday mornings now through the 21st of June!
This is a simple and tangible way to support mothers in our community who are choosing life for their children. 🤍

This is one of the most sobering truth in all of Romans. 👇
It’s not just that religious works can’t save you - it’s that trusting in them actually blinds you to what God is doing. A heart that keeps rejecting grace doesn’t stay soft. It hardens.
The question isn’t just “do you believe in God?” Israel believed in God. They had zeal for God. But they rejected His son.
Romans 11:7 “What Israel is seeking, it has not obtained, but those who were chosen obtained it, and the rest were hardened;”
