Invite your kids to Illumination Station VBS for the brightest week of the year! While many people claim to know about Jesus, many are still in the dark about who He really is. Throughout the week, kids will explore all the ways light brightens, illuminates, reflects, and reveals.

Through engaging Bible lessons, worship, games, crafts, and plenty of fun, children will discover the truth of God's Word and learn that Jesus is the Light of the World.

Who was really on trial when Jesus stood before Pilate?

This week we discovered something stunning: Jesus wasn’t the one being judged—we were. Pilate, the arrogant governor. Barabbas, the guilty murderer set free. The self-righteous religious leaders crying “crucify Him!” Every person in that courtroom represents us.

Yet in this darkest moment, God’s sovereign hand was orchestrating the greatest rescue mission in history. Jesus, the only innocent one, willingly laid down His life for the guilty. For Pilate. For Barabbas. For the Sanhedrin. For you. For me.

“You could have no power at all against me unless it had been given you from above.” Jesus wasn’t a victim—He was a willing Savior. The guiltless died for the guilty, nailing our sin to His cross.

Your Savior is standing before you today. Do you believe?

Have you ever felt betrayed? Jesus knew that feeling intimately. In John 18, we witness the arrest of our Savior—but this wasn’t a helpless victim being overpowered. When soldiers came to seize Him, Jesus stepped FORWARD. He asked the questions. He was in complete control.

With just two words—“I am”—Jesus sent armed soldiers falling backward to the ground. He could have defended Himself, but instead He chose the cross. He chose YOU. Jesus drank the cup of God’s wrath that was meant for us, absorbing every bit of our guilt and shame.
