Pastor Ben in his way to the BBQ this Sunday!
Reminder! This Sunday June 27th is Move Up day woohoo! All students moving into 6th grade this fall are welcome to come to the upper room this Sunday at 11AM. I’d suggest wearing something you wouldn’t mind getting wet as we are planning to have a water balloon fight during service. We are also planning to play some other games and are going to provide pizza and soda to celebrate the new students coming up to the Upper Room.

It is going to be a HOT day on Sunday so please make sure to get extra hydrated before coming to the event. We will also provide plenty of water bottles and gatorade. Also, if you happen to have a super soaker, bring it to the event!! It would be fun to have a giant water gun fight. There is also a swimming pool there too bring an appropriate bathing suit so you can stay cool! Along with the pool, there will be a slip n slide and a sprinkler set up. If you could please plan to have your parents pick you up on time at or slightly before 10:30 that would be greatly appreciated. Bring a snack to share, Thanks!

This is an event celebrating the fact that summer is here and school is paused! All 5th grade students moving into 6th grade are welcome at this event! We will be BBQing burgers and hotdogs, playing yard games, hanging out and doing other summery things. There is also a swimming pool if that is your fancy! Then a little later in the evening we will light up the camp fire, roast some s'mores, sing a few songs of worship and receive a charge from Pastor Ben casting vision for the summer. 6:30 students arrive
Immediately there will be refreshments and snacks available
6:30-7:30pm
Yard games (volleyball, botchee ball, spike ball, 9 square, bouncy house, pool, etc.
7:30pm-8:30pm dinner is served, play more games
8:30pm get fire going, gather people around for a time of extended worship
9-9:30pm teaching/charge from pastor Ben around the fire.
9:30-9:45pm Prayer
9:45pm bust out the s’mores
10:15pm clean up
10:30pm students go home

SUMMER CAMPS ARE HAPPENING!!! What?
Heat Wave is our annual high school summer camp. The camp will be loaded with fun activities such as a high ropes challenge course, guided lava cave exploring, paint balling, swimming, white water rafting field games, night games and more!

Each morning and evening there will be times of worship led by a guest worship rock band, followed by Bible studies taught by our guest speaker Andy Ziesemer from Jesus Mission and the New Divide. We will be covering the topic: Who Am I in Christ? There will also be workshops discussing other relevant challenging topics. The main goal of this camp is for students to have a great time, and to better equip them to confidently live out their faith. We desire for each student to grow closer in their individual relationship with Jesus, and communal relationship with the body of Christ.

When?
July 31-August 4th. Drop-off time at the church on the 31st will be 10:30AM. In the week leading up to the camp, more info such as a packing list and consent forms will be emailed to you. Please bring those forms with you at drop off, and turn them in when you check in. Pick up time at the church will be 5pm on the 4th, unless otherwise specified depending on traffic.

Where?
This year, Heat Wave will be taking place at Camp Jonah in Trout Lake, WA. This camp is just south of Mount Adams, nestled in a beautiful valley at the foot of the mountain. A river runs through the property and offers a great swimming hole. The address of the camp is 31 Little Mountain Rd. Trout Lake, WA 95650

Cost and Where do I Sign up?
Cost is $200, this includes both travel days, all meals and activities except for white water rafting which is an extra $60 totaling $260 if white water rafting.
Sign up on either the Calvary Chapel Lake Stevens app under the event tab, or on cclakestevens.org. Payment is due July 25th. If you need assistance paying for camp, don't hesitate to reach out; we can discuss a scholarship.
