HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY TO ALL THE MOTHERS!!

Resurrection Sunday is almost here. May your journey with Christ of Easter preparation continue on throughout the year. Make time to receive and experience the abundant joy Jesus’ presence brings to your life. Receive and experience this joy especially through hardships and times of strife. Stand firm on the promises he has given you as you follow his lead, especially when you are uncertain about where you are going. Rejoice in the many treasures in heaven Jesus has for you. Rejoice especially as you glimpse his glory in celebration with the body of Christ in proclaiming, “He is risen! He is risen indeed!”

“Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden.” — Corrie ten Boom

This April, we gather in prayer — giving thanks for the hope of the resurrection, celebrating life among our churches, and learning to live each day in the light of Christ.

“Prayer is the encounter of God’s thirst with ours.” — Augustine of Hippo

This March, we come before God in prayer — learning to listen more closely to Jesus, giving thanks for the life of our churches, and walking together toward Easter with steady trust.

“A triune God would call us to converse with him… because he wants to share the joy he has. Prayer is our way of entering into the happiness of God himself.” — Timothy Keller

This February, we turn to God in prayer—sharing in his joy, growing in faithful discipleship, and participating in the life of his kingdom.

In many ways, Jesus is an upside-down King. He washumble, approachable, and gloriously divine.
Greg Williams reminds us what Advent is all about: preparing to receive the King who came to be with us.

During Advent, we anticipate the light of the world entering into our darkness of sin and death to bring us the grace and peace of the living God through the incarnation. There are times when we feel as though we are wandering about in darkness or in the valley of the shadow of death. We anticipate the coming of Jesus into these difficult circumstances even now by the Spirit, knowing Jesus’ light of love and grace has already broken in on us and brought us to a new place of comfort and peace. Sit silently for a moment and reflect gratefully upon God’s presence in your life and circumstances right now through Jesus in the Spirit.

This world often tries to make you choose between two sides. Yet we know life is more complex than either/or. There is the beautiful mystery of “and”. We can be brokenhearted in this life and rejoice in our mended hearts through Christ. We can experience heavy situations and burdens in life and live each moment with joy and love to the best of our ability. We can be uncertain about our future circumstances and be confident in the One who holds our future. Our many life experiences do not have to compete or be placed in a certain order. They can simply happen together. We can be glad to know the hurt, pain, struggles, and uncertainty in this life are temporary while the love, joy, self-control, and peace are given in abundance in this life on into eternity. Good has won, so we can live each day in victory.
