Day 2:The Power of Reverent Listening
DevotionalIn our fast-paced world, we're often quick to speak and slow to listen. Yet, true worship begins with a posture of reverent listening. When we approach God, it's essential to come with a teachable spirit, ready to receive rather than just express. This requires us to quiet our hearts, still our minds, and create space to hear God's voice. Like a student eager to learn from a master, we must position ourselves to receive instruction. Today, practice the art of sacred silence, allowing God to speak into your life.
Bible Verse
"Guard your steps when you go to the house of God. Go near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools, who do not know that they do wrong. Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few." - Ecclesiastes 5:1-2
Reflection Question
In what ways can you create more intentional moments of silence in your daily routine to better hear God's voice?
Quote When God speaks, it thunders. When God speaks, there's sparks within you. There's true momentum within you to go forward.
Prayer
Father, teach me to listen more than I speak. Help me cultivate a heart that's quick to hear Your voice and slow to rush ahead with my own agenda. Amen.
