As most of you have already heard, Meals on Wheels will be discontinuing their service to La Plata. This is a critical service to seniors providing food and human contact.

We need your help!
We have worked out a 30 day extension (Aug 17-Sept 18) but we need to provide the deliveries ourselves. If you would be able to drive for even one day please call or text Scott at 660-342-0154 to be scheduled. Deliveries need to be picked up at 930a in Kirksville and the route in La Plata takes 45 minutes to an hour. All in all, it sounds like a two hour commitment. Don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.

The Step After That
We will host an informational meeting at the La Plata Christian Church Monday, August 31st at 10a. This will be about the next phase of serving seniors who need food. We are inviting everyone that is interested: family and friends of those who are served, potential volunteers, local business leaders who could help with financial donations, and anyone mildly curious and wants to be of service.
