In January 2026, Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth’s husband, Robert, went home to be with the Lord. His passing happened suddenly, and after only ten years of marriage, Nancy found herself walking through a depth of grief and lament unlike anything she had experienced before.

In today’s podcast episode, Nancy shares what God is teaching her in the midst of that grief and how she is learning to counsel her heart with the truth of God’s Word, even when she doesn’t feel it.

“I’m learning, one day at a time, one moment at a time, to counsel my heart according to the truth of God’s Word. I’m learning to speak to myself—saying things that I know to be true, even when I don’t feel them to be true, and acknowledging that they are true—not because I feel them, but because God is God.”

Friend, grief doesn’t mean we have to deny our sorrow or pretend everything is okay. We can lament honestly while reminding our hearts of what we know to be true about our God.

He is good. He is faithful. He is kind. And He can be trusted to write our story.
